The Human Resources Assistant must demonstrate a commitment to providing superior customer service and value to a diverse constituency. The Human Resources Assistant is expected to be responsive, excel at problem-solving, and multitask in a high-volume department. Proficiency with MS Office, including Excel, and attentiveness to detail are required. To be successful in the role, the Human Resources Assistant must have demonstrated strength in communicating effectively, professionally, and on time. Work with search committees and others to assist in the recruitment of qualified and diverse talent pools.
Assist applicants with our applicant management system and throughout the recruitment and staffing process.
Prepare and process new hires and new employee paperwork.
Provide complete, accurate and timely data entry in the HRS system.
Review payroll set up for new hires and transferring employees.
Monitor the application process to ensure timely review, interviews, hiring, and onboarding.
Process timely communications to applicants.
Close postings in a timely fashion.
Provide excellent customer service, respond to inquiries, and identify and resolve problems.
Maintain cooperative, professional relationships with applicants, employees, peers, supervisors, managers, and the community at large, in person, via email, and through other interactions.
Responsible for maintaining, reconciling, and auditing HR data.
Track and monitor the status of postings, including timelines for interviews, responsiveness to candidates, and optimum utilization.
Guide faculty and staff in compliance with policies/procedures and contract language. Maintain compliance with federal and state regulations related to HR responsibilities.
Carry out responsibilities in accordance with University policies, procedures, and applicable laws.
Maintain confidentiality of appropriate HR and employee information.
Consistently demonstrate high standards of responsibility with integrity by supporting the FSU mission, vision, and core values.
