POSITION SUMMARY
Vertiv Delaware, Ohio is seeking a highly skilled Manufacturing Engineer to join our team. The role will be responsible for optimizing our manufacturing processes, developing efficient workflows, ensure safety, and improve quality of our products. This role involves a blend of hands-on engineering and strategic planning to drive continuous improvement and support production operations.
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Process Improvement and workflow optimization:
    • Identify, plan, design, and implement key projects to improve quality, reduce cost, increase productivity, ensure safety, and improve cycle time by minimizing wasted time, scrap, rework, etc., resulting in significant efficiency improvement and customer satisfaction.
    • Lead and design strategies for improving processes within the Operations organization.
    • Employ Lean methodologies and tools to accomplish business objectives.
    • Act as an advisor to the production team regarding projects, tasks, and operations.
    • Some automation work is to be expected.
    • Support ISO Quality System, Quality Policy, Continuous Improvement efforts, and utilize Lean Manufacturing Principles.
  • Work Instructions:
    • Develop, document, and maintain detailed work instructions for manufacturing processes.
  • PFMEA:
    • Conduct Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA) to identify and mitigate potential risks in manufacturing processes.
  • Project Management:
    • Ensure projects are completed on time.
    • Manage the development, implementation, and evaluation of complex designs.
    • Lead and direct the work of others.
  • Fixture Design and Fabrication:
    • Collaborate with the Engineering Department to design, validate, and fabricate fixtures to support product development, testing, and production.
  • Production Support:
  • Assist with troubleshooting equipment and machine issues as needed.
  • Additional responsibilities as required.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Strong understanding of cost control, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to work in a light manufacturing environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal, teamwork, and communication skills.
  • Experience working within Oracle EBS (preferred)

Education/Experience
  • BS degree in a technical field required, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Industrial Engineering preferred. Experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree.
  • 1-3 years' experience in a production environment preferred.
  • 1-3 years' experience in equipment design and fabrication preferred.
  • Lean Certification preferred.
