Job description

Wisconsin Public Service Corp, a subsidiary of WEC Energy Group, is seeking an Electrical Engineer - Field Application in our Rhinelander or Minocqua, Wisconsin locations. This position offers flexibility for a hybrid work arrangement (remote/on-site) with time spent in the office and at job sites.
This position is part of a job family (Associate Engineer, Engineer, and Senior Engineer) where experience will be the determining factor.

Job Responsibilities
  • The Electrical Engineer is part of a team responsible for programs that maintain and enhance our electric distribution system to ensure safety and reliability.
  • Work on new services equipment start-ups, cogeneration, commissioning's, and new service request.
  • Review and approve new installations, designs, and guide designers on building the system.
  • Work with customers on new services and equipment requirements.
  • Deal with outage and voltage concerns discuss issues directly with customers and come up with plans to resolve.
  • Insure equipment is being installed and operated safely.
  • Meet with large customers to address concerns and system work.
  • On-call responsibilities during major storms.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering
  • Valid driver's license and meet the company's requirements for driving
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
  • Strong analytical, project management, and team building skills

This position requires unescorted access to certain critical cyber assets which would require applicants to satisfy all Company and NERC Critical Infrastructure Protection Standard 004 security requirements, which includes a background investigation.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Power Engineering emphasis or experience with electric distribution system design or operations
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license

Pay Range Minimum: $68,436.68
Pay Range Maximum: $135,761.08
The pay range reflects the minimum and maximum for the position at the time of posting and may be modified in the future. The starting salary/pay within the pay range will be based on several factors, as applicable, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, shift, travel requirements, collective bargaining agreements, and business and organizational needs. At WEC Energy Group, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role.
This position is eligible for employee referral bonus.
