Human Interest

OR • On-site, Remote

Re-posted 10 days ago

Job description

Human Interest is on a mission to ensure that people in all lines of work have access to retirement benefits.

More than half of all working Americans are not saving enough for their future. Too often, it's because they are employed by a company that doesn't offer a retirement plan. Human Interest is changing that by making it affordable and accessible for small and medium-sized businesses to offer employees a path to financial independence through retirement savings.

We're a high-growth fintech company changing the retirement industry. We are backed by a number of investors. This includes funding from Marshall Wace and Baillie Gifford, as well as top investors such as BlackRock, TPG (The Rise Fund), SoftBank, Glynn Capital, NewView Capital, USVP, Wing, Uncork, and more.

About the role

The Engineering Manager, CRM Systems will lead our Salesforce team of administrators and developers. Human Interest uses Sales Cloud and Service Cloud and has recently invested in Agentforce. The team supports our Go-To-Market (GTM) organization across the customer lifecycle-from lead ingestion and opportunity management through closed-won, launch, and revenue-share payments. We also support our Customer Support & Operations (CS&O) organization, including standard operating procedures, customer communications, case creation, and case resolution.

The Salesforce ecosystem is rapidly evolving with AI. Development is being accelerated by AI coding tools such as Claude Code and Codex, while legacy, UI-based DevOps practices are giving way to automated CI/CD pipelines. Agentforce creates new opportunities to deploy intelligent agents that make individuals, teams, and organizations more productive.

We're looking for an engineering manager with both software engineering and Salesforce experience who is already embracing this new way of working. Together with your product counterpart, you will set the team's strategy and be accountable for timely, high-quality delivery. You will partner with leaders across GTM and CS&O to deeply understand their needs and shape a balanced roadmap that improves the customer experience, accelerates revenue growth, and increases operational efficiency.

This role sits within Human Interest's Technology organization and reports directly to the Vice President of Product & Engineering.

What you get to do every day

  • Lead, hire, and develop a high-performing team of Salesforce administrators and developers operating at the leading edge of AI adoption.
  • Partner with Product to establish a clear technical strategy, architecture, and roadmap for Human Interest's CRM systems.
  • Deliver reliable, scalable solutions that support critical GTM and CS&O workflows across the customer lifecycle.
  • Invest in platform, architecture, testing, observability, and CI/CD improvements that increase delivery speed and minimize production errors.
  • Establish the processes the team needs to successfully develop, maintain, and support its solutions, including sprint planning, technical design reviews, release management, on-call rotations, incident response, and quarterly planning.
  • Identify opportunities to use Agentforce and other AI capabilities to improve employee productivity and customer outcomes.
  • Make thoughtful build-versus-buy decisions, including whether a capability should be implemented in Salesforce, provided by another vendor, or built as a custom solution.

What you bring to the role

  • 5+ years of experience leading engineering or technical teams in the Salesforce domain.
  • Prior hands-on software engineering experience and a strong understanding of software architecture, APIs, integrations, automated testing, and CI/CD.
  • Experience with Salesforce platform capabilities and concepts such as Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, CPQ, Flow, Apex, Lightning Web Components, data modeling, security and permissions, and system integrations.
  • Experience establishing effective engineering practices for planning, development, code review, deployment, incident response, and operational support.
  • Experience directing AI coding agents (e.g. Claude Code, Codex, or Cursor) in a professional setting.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build trusted relationships with stakeholders
  • A bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field

Nice to haves

  • Experience deploying Agentforce or other AI-powered customer support, sales, or operations agents.
  • Experience managing Salesforce code and delivery through GitHub and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Experience supporting complex GTM workflows, including lead routing, opportunity management, CPQ, contracting, onboarding, and revenue operations.
  • Experience supporting high-volume customer service or operations teams using Service Cloud, omnichannel routing, knowledge management, and case automation.
  • Experience operating customer-facing systems in fintech or another highly regulated industry.
  • Familiarity with security, privacy, auditability, and data-governance requirements for systems containing sensitive customer information.
