Job description


We are hiring a Sign Installer / Fabrication Technician. This is a temp to perm position with opportunity of full-time hire.
Duties:
Sign Installation

  • Install a variety of signs including channel letters, dimensional letters, panel signs, monument signs, wall signs, window graphics, banners, and wayfinding signage.
  • Install vinyl graphics on windows, walls, vehicles, trailers, and other surfaces.
  • Read and interpret installation drawings, site surveys, and work orders.
  • Measure and verify placement to ensure accurate and professional installations.
  • Operate lifts, ladders, scaffolding, and other equipment safely.
  • Perform site preparation and cleanup before and after installations.
  • Travel to customer locations throughout the service area.
 Fabrication & Production Support

  • Assist with sign fabrication, assembly, and finishing in the shop.
  • Cut, drill, route, and assemble various sign materials including aluminum, acrylic, PVC, wood, and composite panels.
  • Install hardware, framing systems, raceways, mounting brackets, and fasteners.
  • Prepare signs for installation by applying graphics, mounting prints, and assembling components.
  • Assist with welding, electrical, or lighting components when qualified.
  • Conduct quality checks to ensure signs meet company standards.
Equipment & Tool Operation

  • Safely operate hand and power tools including drills, saws, routers, grinders, rivet guns, and measuring equipment.
  • Operate installation equipment such as boom lifts, scissor lifts, and bucket trucks when certified.
  • Maintain company vehicles, tools, and equipment in clean working condition.
  • Report equipment issues and maintenance needs promptly.
 Customer Service & Professionalism

  • Represent the company professionally at customer locations.
  • Communicate effectively with customers, project managers, and team members.
  • Address installation issues in the field and recommend solutions when necessary.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction upon project completion.
Safety & Compliance

  • Follow all OSHA, company, and site-specific safety requirements.
  • Properly use personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Maintain a safe and organized work environment in both shop and field settings.
  • Adhere to safe driving practices while operating company vehicles.
 Required Qualifications

  • Experience in sign installation, construction, fabrication, or a related trade preferred.
  • Ability to read tape measures, blueprints, shop drawings, and installation documents.
  • Experience using hand tools and power tools.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent attention to detail and quality workmanship.
  • Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.
  • Reliable transportation and punctual attendance.
 Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 75 pounds.
  • Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and work with hands for extended periods.
  • Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • Ability to work at heights using ladders, lifts, and elevated work platforms.
  • Ability to perform physically demanding tasks throughout the day.
 Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous sign industry experience.
  • Experience with vehicle wraps and vinyl graphics installation.
  • Electrical sign installation experience.
Job Type: Full-Time
Work Location: Field and Shop / Production Facility in North Bergen
Schedule: Monday-Friday from 10am to 7pm with occasional overtime, evenings, or weekends as required by project schedules.
Pay: $22-$25/hr.
