Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Laboratory/Technical Assistant for the School of Environmental and Biological Sciences - Department of Plant Biology.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
  • Contributes to ongoing research in botanicals and human health and other related projects using microbiology, molecular biology, metabolomic analysis and other general laboratory techniques.

Qualifications
Minimum Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Molecular Biology and Biochemistry or a related scientific/technical discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and/or relevant laboratory technician or research study experience carrying out research protocols and tests, or other technical work may be substituted for the degree.

Certifications/Licenses
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Knowledge of experimental design, data analysis, aseptic technique, troubleshooting, and record-keeping.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC) certification.
  • More than one year laboratory experience in qRT-PCR, RNA isolation, gene expression analysis, Western Blot, Immunocytochemistry, primary cell culture, macrophage differentiation, stem cell handling.
