Inventory Clerk
The University of Miami/UHealth department of Supply Chain has an exciting opportunity for a Full Time TEMP Inventory Clerk to work at the UHealth Medical Campus. The Inventory Clerk maintains control of incoming and outgoing supplies and products within the department/unit.
CORE JOB FUNCTIONS
  • Compiles and maintains records of quantity, type and value of material, equipment, merchandise, or supplies stocked. Counts material equipment, merchandise or supplies in stock and posts totals to inventory records, manually or using inventory system.
  • Compares inventories to office records or computes figures from records, such as production records, or purchase invoices to obtain current inventory.
  • Verifies clerical computations against physical count of stock and adjusts errors in computation or count, or investigates and reports reasons for discrepancies.
  • Compiles information on receipt or disbursement of material, equipment, merchandise, or supplies, and computes inventory balance, price, and cost.
  • Prepares reports, such as inventory balance, price lists, and shortages.
  • Prepares list of depleted items and recommends review of defective or unusable items.
  • Stocks and issues materials or merchandise.
  • Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.
Department Specific Functions
The performance of tasks necessary to operate the Stockroom, which houses all stock items required to address the needs of the Medical School, SCCC, BPEI, UHealth Tower ("UHT") and all satellite facilities under the responsibility of Supply Chain. This position is considered "essential personnel", therefore, Disaster Procedures apply and must be followed.
This position reports to the Supervisor, Materials Management.
  • Responsible for placing orders (via "Workday") of "Stock" and "Non-Stock" supplies/ materials as needed by staff/ technicians in accordance with departmental procedures
  • Responsible for checking orders brought from receiving to ensure accuracy and completeness
  • Notifies requester (i.e. technicians) of parts/ items that are ready to be picked up
  • Evaluates vendor quotes and services to determine most deraible suppliers
  • Follows-up on back orders to determine status
  • Ensures that all parts are stocked and maintained at "PAR" levels
  • Responsible for ensuring that labels for "Part Identification" ("PID's") are placed on respective bins
  • Ensures that all part records ("PID's") are updated and maintained for accurate for pricing, quantity, preferred vendor, etc. within departmental work order management system ("TMA")
  • Perform on-going cycle counts to ensure inventory quantities reflected in TMA are true and accurate at all times
  • Work closely with maintenance technicians and managers for emergency orders to ensure goods are obtained in a timely manner in order to complete work orders
  • Ensure that TMA work order status is updated at each phase of the life cycle as it relates to the Stockroom department (i.e. "Parts on Order", "Parts Received", etc.)
  • Other duties as assigned by Supervisor
As part of the operations for Moving/ Receiving & Stockroom, all clerks are expected to work interchangeably and cross train to cover staff shortage. Help movers and work on loading dock as necessary when assigned as a "floater" on work schedule.
Opening and closing the doors during normal business hours of 8am and 4:30pm Signing for all packages with the correct address of 1600 NW 10th Avenue and a valid PO Troubleshooting orders with customers and/or office if information is missing such as address or PO Disposing of trash from moving jobs and taking out the regular trash for receiving area Dispense and deliver alcohol
Deliver dry ice Mondays and Wednesdays as scheduled by office Deliver materials and packages from dock to departments Run to stores and vendors for supplies as needed Follow work assignment on moving work order per request
