Job description

We are a growing Managed Service Provider (MSP) seeking a highly organized and dependable Part Time Inventory and Procurement Specialist to support inventory and provisioning activities. The Inventory and Provisioning Specialist supports the management of customer hardware throughout its lifecycle. This position is responsible for assisting with receiving, tracking, preparing, and deploying devices to customers while maintaining accurate inventory records. The Inventory and Provisioning Specialist works closely with service desk and field services to ensure hardware is properly configured, documented, and delivered on time. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys wearing multiple hats, thrives in a fast-paced technology environment, and takes pride in keeping operations running smoothly.

This position will work 20-25 hours per week.

Responsibilities:

  • Receive, inspect, and log incoming hardware (laptops, desktops, peripherals, networking equipment) into inventory systems.
  • Accurately track inventory levels and asset details, including serial numbers, models, locations, and customer assignments.
  • Assist with device provisioning, including basic configuration, imaging, labeling, and quality checks according to company standards.
  • Prepare and package hardware for customer delivery, shipment, or onsite deployment.
  • Maintain organized, secure storage areas for inventory and customer assets.
  • Support hardware procurement activities by coordinating with internal teams as directed.
  • Update documentation and inventory records to ensure accuracy and audit readiness.
  • Communicate status updates related to inventory availability, order fulfillment, and provisioning timelines.
  • Assist with returns, replacements, warranty claims, and decommissioning of equipment.
  • Follow established processes, security requirements, and data-handling procedures.
  • Escalate discrepancies, shortages, or damaged equipment to the Inventory Manager.
  • Provide general support to the Inventory Manager and related teams as needed.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 2–3 years of experience in operations, or a similar role.
  • Experience in an MSP, technology, or fast-paced service environment preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and general business systems.
  • Ability to maintain professionalism and confidentiality in handling sensitive information.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Team-oriented mindset with a proactive approach to supporting employees and leadership.
