BPR Consulting Group (www.bpr-grp.com) is seeking experienced Building Inspectors to join our growing company and serve our clients.

The successful candidates must possess the ability to work independently, communicate effectively and maintain professional working relationships with clients, coworkers, and permit applicants. A strong construction background and a desire to gain building code knowledge is essential to the success of the selected individuals.

Essential Duties:

The essential duties noted below are not intended to be an exhaustive list of all responsibilities, functions, and skills. They are intended to be a summary of key job responsibilities and duties.

  • Perform field inspections of industrial, commercial, and residential buildings during various stages of construction to verify compliance with applicable California Building Codes and approved project documents.
  • Issue written correction notices as required.
  • Maintain basic record-keeping practices.
  • Perform other related duties and responsibilities as required.
  • Perform all work consistent with BPR's and clients' policies and procedures.
  • Provide all services in an efficient, proactive, and client focused manner.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Three (3) plus years as a building inspector or building plans examiner for a local or state building department or equivalent related experience.
  • Must possess knowledge of building inspection and construction processes.
  • Experience in the interpretation and application of building codes.
  • Advanced knowledge of California Building Codes.
  • Good driving record.

Certification Requirements:

  • Minimum of at least one ICC certification, preferably ICC Building Inspector and/or ICC Residential Building Inspector certification
