Job description

Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree, active Pharmacist license, and minimum 1+ years Pharmacist experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Inpatient Hospital Pharmacist

Location: Sumset South Carolina
Position Type: Temporary Contract Coverage
Training Week: September 21
Coverage Dates: September 26 – October 15

RPh on the Go is seeking an experienced Inpatient Hospital Pharmacist to provide temporary coverage for a 60-bed hospital in South Carolina. This assignment is ideal for a pharmacist with recent inpatient hospital experience who is comfortable working independently and participating in an on-call rotation.

Hospital Details

Licensed Beds: 60
Average Daily Census: Approximately 30 patients (currently 15–20)
Coverage Schedule

Training

Week of September 21

Assignment Dates

September 26–27: On-call coverage
September 28 – October 2: 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM, plus on-call after each shift
October 5–8: 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM, plus on-call after each shift
October 12–15: 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM, plus on-call after each shift
Weekend Coverage
On-call coverage required

Responsibilities

Verify medication orders for hospitalized patients.
Review medication therapies for safety, accuracy, and clinical appropriateness.
Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to optimize patient care.
Provide drug information and clinical support to hospital staff.
Participate in after-hours and weekend on-call coverage, including remote order verification and clinical consultations.
Ensure compliance with hospital policies and state and federal regulations.

Qualifications
Active and unrestricted South Carolina Pharmacist License
Minimum of 1 year of inpatient hospital pharmacy experience
Strong clinical judgment and medication order verification skills
Ability to work independently and manage on-call responsibilities
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
Assignment Highlights
Training provided prior to coverage
Day shift schedule with after-hours on-call
Weekend remote on-call responsibilities
