The Senior Systems Administrator is responsible for maintaining the stability and integrity of the corporate server infrastructure and Active Directory environment. This involves planning, designing, and developing server environments. Additionally, the role includes participating in the installation, monitoring, maintenance, support, and optimization of all server hardware, software, and associated technologies. The individual will also promptly and accurately diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues.


This is a contract-to-permanent opportunity with one of Arctiq's clients. A hybrid work arrangement is required based in the location of Marcus Hook, PA.


Requirements:


  • Design and maintain the company-wide Active Directory structure, ensuring enforcement of corporate policies within the domain environment.
  • Monitor server performance and troubleshoot any issues as they arise.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues, management, and department leaders to evaluate both short- and long-term system requirements.
  • Create and update documentation related to system configurations, network diagrams, processes, and service records.
  • Provide technical design support for corporate IT projects in coordination with both corporate and remote IT teams.
  • Administer serversincluding database, email, file and print, and backup serversalong with their operating systems and associated software.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain policies, procedures, and training programs related to server administration, usage, and disaster recovery.
  • Research technical products, services, protocols, and standards to stay current with advancements in the IT industry.
  • Manage asset inventory by maintaining server component records, documentation, and technical specifications.
  • Oversee the deployment and upgrade of new and existing equipment, hardware, and software.
  • Perform configurations and installations for Cisco switches, as well as update firewalls and configure routers.
  • Participate in the administration of all server and network solutions.
  • Conduct server and security audits, along with system backups and recovery operations.
  • Engage with vendors, outsourcers, and contractors to negotiate and procure products and services.
  • Conduct performance testing and tuning of both new and existing solutions to ensure system reliability and identify areas for enhancement.
  • Collaboratively and proactively coordinate with the IT team to resolve defects in products or company systems.
  • Actively contribute to cross-departmental projects as assigned or needed.
  • Recommend, schedule, and execute upgrades proactively to optimize system performance and functionality.
  • Maintain regular communication with managers, clients, and vendors to address inquiries and resolve questions.


Qualifications:


  • 12+ years experience as Senior IT Server Administrator with expertise in Microsoft Active Directory design, maintenance, and migrations.
  • In-depth knowledge of Active Directory, Group Policy, Office 365, ADFS, Exchange Online, Windows and Linux server environments.
  • Skilled in capacity planning, scripting, security principles, and server management best practices.
  • Experience with VMWare VSphere 7.x, ESX host configuration, Citrix XenApp 2507+, Citrix Cloud, and SAN technologies.
  • Proficient with Cisco routers, switches, firewalls, wireless hardware, network and PC operating systems, imaging, and current network protocols.
  • Knowledgeable in IT SOX Controls, endpoint security (Symantec, Sentinel One, Trend Micro), and cybersecurity tools (Rapid7, Proofpoint, Microsoft Defender).
  • Strong hardware troubleshooting, application support, and understanding of Change Control procedures.
  • Excellent communication skills and highly self-motivated with attention to detail.
