Summary
About the Position: Red River Army Depot (RRAD) is located in northeast Texas, 19 miles west of Texarkana and approximately 170 miles northeast of Dallas. RRAD is near the corners of 4 states - Arkansas, Louisiana, Oklahoma and Texas. The depot's enormous maintenance mission includes the repair, rebuild, overhaul and conversion of tactical wheeled vehicles. Duties
Help
  • Perform a variety of duties required to develop logistics management operations that involve planning, coordinating and evaluating the logistics actions required
  • to support depot mission workload and resource requirements utilizing the Logistics Modernization Program (LMP).
  • Manage designated maintenance programs for combat and tactical vehicle system(s) assuring depot level repair, rebuild, overhaul, conversion, and/or modification is accomplished in the most economical, expedient, and cost efficient manner feasible.
  • Plan, estimate, schedule and expedite the use of labor, machines, and materials in the repair, rebuild, conversion, overhaul, and/or modification of combat and tactical vehicles.
  • Leads a team of Production controllers and Parts Managers in grades GS-07 and GS-09.
  • Has responsibility for distributing and balancing the workload among employees in accordance with established work flow or job specialization,
  • assure timely accomplishment of the assigned workload, and assure that each employee has enough work to keep busy.

  • Current permanent Federal employees (to include permanent Army employees) applying for a Term appointment will be appointed/converted into a Term appointment with no statutory return rights back to a permanent position.
  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain appropriate security clearance for access to Depot Production Computer System.
  • Term employment is subject to a one year trial period. Employees serving a trial period can be removed with limited appeal rights.
  • This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 10% of the time.
  • In accordance with D0D 7000.14-R FMR Vol 14, Chap 2, employee must obtain required Fiscal Law certification within 90 days of appointment to position.
  • This position requires successful completion of the Project Management Professional (PMP) training within 3 years of appointment to position.
  • Position may be filled as a Term Appointment NTE 1 year and 1 day. Term appointments may be extended beyond of six (6) years, up to eight (8) years. With DoD approval, Term appointments may be extended beyond eight (8) years.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience.
Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) Planning production schedules for major end item weapon systems and components, 2) Estimating labor costs for new depot overhaul programs, and 3) Tracking material availability across multiple production work centers. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09).
