Summary

Site/Function Level role (Large Site): 
Partner with the site/function business leaders to develop the site/function strategy deployment plans. Actively drive the creation and deployment of an annual global CI strategy, which supports the site/function strategy deployment plans. Incorporate the CI (Lean and Six Sigma) vision into all elements of the plan. Responsible for employee engagement, collaboration and maturity in CI performance at site/function level and sharing good practices across the region. Recognized subject matter expert on Lean and Six Sigma principles, systems, methods and tools.  Collaborate with other CI leaders within the organization to ensure consistency across segments and functions. Manage a multi-level team of direct and indirect resources to effectively support the execution of the strategy deployment plans and to deliver projects and benefits to the site/function.

Detailed Description

Performs tasks such as, but not limited to, the following:

  • Work with the leadership team to lead the development and implementation of CI strategy
  • Manage local teams to deliver CI improvement projects supporting all business functions
  • Ensure a common approach to process improvement standards and methodology is practiced across the site/function
  • Drive the adoption and measurement of the Systematic CI Framework Standards, including key system elements like CI Committee and Management Gemba, while reflecting on and enhancing the Standards
  • Support the onboarding, training and education of CI within the local site/function.
  • Lead and collaborate with site's or function's productivity projects related to Continuous Improvement and support the project funnel in the Cost Productivity Roadmap
  • Provide hands-on leadership and motivation to site and/or regional personnel to implement CI best practices, such as lead Value Stream Mapping and Kaizen events
  • Lead process improvement based CI workshops to drive ideas and solutions to achieve the site's or function's productivity e.g. capacity improvement, headcount analysis and improvement, line and layout design
  • Keep abreast of best practices (in the both broader Celestica network and the industry) to integrate back into the function/region
  • Collect and report monthly CI KPI's and Framework score to all local and regional stakeholders.  This includes discussion and improvement action plans as part of site/function monthly reviews
  • Work closely with all area owners to create a culture of continuous improvement

Physical Demands

Duties of this position are performed in generally good conditions with occasional exposure (10% - 33%) to noise, odours, dust, drafts, chemicals, operating machinery, temperature extremes, hazardous substances, etc.
Duties may require regular periods of sitting and/or standing and sustained visual concentration on observing operations.  Repetitive manual movements (e.g. data entry, using a computer mouse, using a calculator, time studies, assembling workstations/racking, labeling, floor taping, etc., as applicable) are regularly required.
Occasional overnight travel is required.
 

Typical Experience

Typical Experience:
10+ years of experience minimum
Master Black Belt, CI Manager
Should be very experienced in CI and will have worked upon a CI deployment in a past role
Experience in change management
Operations experience is also essential
Management and leadership experience

Typical Education

Bachelor Degree or consideration of an equivalent combination of education and experience.
