Job description

The Center for Human Development (CHD) is seeking Residential Cleaning and Direct Care Staff to join our team at our Community Transitional Living Program (CTLP) in Hartford, CT. Our residential direct care staff establish life-changing relationships with our clients and provide opportunities to optimize their independence, rehabilitation, and recovery.
CTLP is a community-based transitional independent living environment for up to 19 eligible adults with severe and persistent mental health diagnoses that will benefit from temporary residential support. The ideal candidate will have a strong desire to help others and make an impact in their community. The primary focus of this role is the cleaning of clients apartments while helping instill good habits and encouraging independence. Some additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Clean and maintain clients' apartments, including kitchens, bathrooms, living areas, and bedrooms
  • Modeling cleaning routines and encouraging them to be self sufficient
  • Offering guidance, and helping them stay organized
  • Clean common areas, stairwells, hallways, and other common spaces
  • Provide direct care support, such as:
    • Supporting clients' activities of daily living
    • Providing opportunities to optimize their independence, rehabilitation, and recovery
    • Develop professional and supportive relationships with clients and provide informal counseling and guidance with a person-centered focus

  • Valid driver's license
  • Registered & insured vehicle available for work purposes

SCHEDULE:
Monday 5:00pm-9:00pm, Tuesday 5:00pm-9:00pm, Wednesday 5:00pm-9:00pm, Thursday 5:00pm-9:00pm. Days off: Sunday, Friday, Saturday.
