Scope of Job

Responsible to perform all related work responsibilities consistent with the standardized procedures and compliance requirements of the Bank. Accountable to process customer transactions accurately and according to the customer service standards of the Bank. Identify customer needs for convenience services and referral opportunities for other services offered by the Bank and Financial Services. Make appropriate recommendations.

Primary Duties

Responsible to actively greet each customer, determine their specific Banking needs, provide a single point of contact for the completion of transactions.

Responsible for the accurate processing of all customer transactions requested through the lobby, drive-up, or telephone. Including but not limited to; deposits, withdrawals, loan payment receipt, cashier check issuance, check cashing, credit card advances, savings bond redemption, check orders, wire transfer and ACH transactions.

Accountable to accurately perform assigned work tasks, to support the completion of customer transactions. Including: night deposit and mail processing, ATM servicing and balancing, individual teller drawer balancing.

Responsible to provide customer service, perform account maintenance, and problem solve; according to customer need. This includes but is not limited to; stop payment, funds transfer, balance inquiry, address or other information changes, account balancing, debit card and web banking support.

Open new personal and business accounts including; checking, savings, deposit, and IRA/HSA accounts; identify and recommend additional convenience services including web banking and debit cards. Close personal and business accounts as requested.

Actively work to identify customer needs for additional Bank and Financial Service products; sell and refer other Bank, Trust, Brokerage, and Insurance products and services to new and existing customers.

Actively seek out opportunities, outside the Bank, to grow new customer relationships through referrals and identification of prospects.

Identify early signs of customer dissatisfaction and work to resolve issues to aid in customer retention. Refer to other staff or supervisors as needed.

Secondary Duties

Work as a team with departmental counterparts on planning and implementing assigned projects and products.

Participate on various committees and project teams as deemed appropriate by management.

Attend, actively participate in organization, job specific training offered, and Quality Service programs.

Adhere to all applicable Policies and Procedures of BankWest organization.

Community involvement is strongly encouraged.

Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Education:

A high school diploma or equivalent.

ABA Universal Banker Certification Program

Experience:

Bank trainee or intern experience.

Experience in customer Service.

Knowledge and Special Skills:

Ability to work dependently and/or independently, under pressure, meet deadlines, and adjust work schedules as needed to complete job responsibilities.

Ability to organize and handle multiple responsibilities while delivering quality external and/or internal Customer Service.

Strong interpersonal skills to ensure effective communication with external and/or internal customers.

Knowledge or ability to learn regulatory requirements pertinent to performance of specified duties in job description.

Knowledge of banking terminology and procedures.

Ability to skillfully use a variety of application software, learns computer programs, and comprehends the program output.

Adhere to Federal Privacy Standards in addition to following BankWest requirements for electronic communication and Social Engineering standards.
