What is teletherapy?

Teletherapy is a form of mental health counseling or therapy that takes place remotely using technology such as video calls, phone calls, or secure messaging platforms. It allows clients to connect with licensed therapists from the comfort of their own homes, making mental health services more accessible and convenient. Teletherapy is effective for many types of therapy, including individual, couples, and group sessions, and is used to address a wide range of mental health concerns. It also ensures privacy and confidentiality while offering flexibility in scheduling.

What is a teletherapy job?

Teletherapy can refer to radiation therapy, but it most commonly refers to online speech therapy. As a speech teletherapist, your responsibilities are to provide speech therapy and treatment via video calls. Your duties are to consult online with patients to determine their goals and needs and then develop therapeutic programs that utilize telecommunications designed to meet those goals. These programs may involve synchronous or asynchronous therapies. The former refers to interactive treatments, such as live video, while the latter refers to pre-recorded lessons or therapies that your clients can practice on their own.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a teletherapist, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Teletherapist, you need a counseling or psychology degree, state licensure, and strong clinical assessment abilities. Familiarity with secure video conferencing platforms, electronic health records (EHRs), and telehealth compliance protocols is essential. Exceptional communication, empathy, and adaptability help build rapport and effectively support clients remotely. These skills ensure ethical, effective care and positive therapeutic outcomes in a virtual environment.

What are some common challenges teletherapists face when transitioning from in-person therapy to remote sessions?

Teletherapists often encounter challenges such as building rapport with clients through a screen, managing potential technical issues, and ensuring client privacy in remote environments. Adapting therapeutic techniques to a virtual format may require creativity and flexibility, as nonverbal cues can be harder to interpret. Additionally, teletherapists must be proactive about setting clear boundaries and maintaining a professional workspace to foster effective sessions. Support from a collaborative team and access to ongoing training can help ease this transition.

Job description

Position Overview

Gotham Enterprises Ltd is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) to join our team as a teletherapy specialist. This full-time remote position offers you the flexibility to manage your caseload and schedule while making a significant impact on the lives of individuals seeking mental health support across Nevada.

About the Organization

At Gotham Enterprises Ltd, we are a leading provider of teletherapy services focused on increasing accessibility to mental health resources. As a response to the growing demand for quality mental health care, especially in a post-pandemic world, we have pioneered innovative solutions that allow qualified professionals to deliver effective counseling services online. Our mission is to enhance well-being within communities by bridging the gaps in mental health accessibility, ensuring that care is just a click away.

Work Environment

This role is entirely remote, allowing you to work from the comfort of your own home while maintaining a professional and confidential counseling environment. You will utilize a secure and user-friendly platform that enables easy communication with clients, minimizes paperwork, and provides essential tools for effective therapy delivery. With the flexibility to design your own work hours, you can supplement your income or build a full caseload of up to 40 hours per week based on your personal preference.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide remote counseling sessions to clients using our dedicated teletherapy platform, ensuring a safe and supportive environment.
  • Utilize advanced therapy tools and resources available on the platform to develop tailored treatment plans that meet the individual needs of clients.
  • Conduct assessments and engage in regular follow-ups to monitor client progress.
  • Maintain accurate and concise records of all client interactions while adhering to minimal paperwork requirements.
  • Screen clients to ensure they are low acuity and stable, setting your own demographic preferences based on your expertise.
  • Participate in team meetings and professional development sessions to enhance your skills and contribute to best practices in remote counseling.
Patient Population / Client Focus

You will work primarily with clients who have been pre-screened for stability and low acuity, allowing you to focus your efforts on providing high-quality care without the overwhelming stress of high-risk cases. This approach enables you to build therapeutic relationships that foster healing and personal growth within a supportive framework.

Qualifications
  • A Masterโ€™s Degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology is required.
  • A valid and fully licensed LCPC credential in the state of Nevada, with no disciplinary actions on your record.
  • Ability to work independently while demonstrating flexibility and creativity in addressing client needs.
  • Strong communication skills, with a focus on maintaining professionalism in all interactions.
  • Dedicated private practice space that complies with confidentiality and privacy policies.
Preferred Experience
  • Experience managing your own caseload and delivering therapy through online platforms or teletherapy systems.
  • Dual or multi-state certification is a plus, enhancing your ability to connect with a broader client base.
Compensation and Benefits

The salary for this position ranges from USD 90,000 to 104,000 annually, based on experience and contributions to our mission. Additionally, successful candidates will receive a substantial sign-on bonus upon seeing their first client within two weeks of onboarding. Other benefits include:

  • Access to a comprehensive library of therapy tools and resources.
  • A streamlined self-pay patient system that eliminates the need for reporting to funding sources.
  • Significant opportunities for professional development and continuous learning.
  • Referral programs to encourage client engagement.
  • Free on-platform counseling for staff, promoting mental well-being among our team.
Career Growth Opportunities

Gotham Enterprises Ltd is committed to your professional development. As a member of our team, you will have access to ongoing training and support designed to enhance your counseling skills and expand your professional network. We value your contributions and offer pathways for advancement within our organization as we grow and adapt to the evolving landscape of mental health care.

Why Join Our Team

Joining our team means becoming a part of a compassionate and dedicated community of professionals who share a unique vision for accessible mental health care.
