Telecommute Sql Server information

What is a telecommute SQL Server?

A Telecommute SQL Server job is a position where professionals work remotely to manage, develop, and maintain Microsoft SQL Server databases. These roles typically involve tasks such as database design, performance tuning, security management, and supporting applications that rely on SQL Server. Telecommuting allows employees to perform all essential job functions from home or another remote location, connecting to company databases and systems via secure internet connections. The position requires strong technical skills in SQL, database administration, and troubleshooting. Employers may also seek experience with related technologies and remote collaboration tools.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a telecommute SQL Server professional?

To thrive as a Telecommute SQL Server professional, you need strong expertise in database design, T-SQL scripting, query optimization, and experience with Microsoft SQL Server, usually backed by a relevant degree or certifications like Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate. Familiarity with SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS), Azure SQL Database, backup/recovery tools, and version control systems is typically required. Excellent problem-solving, self-motivation, and communication skills are crucial for remote collaboration and troubleshooting. These skills ensure efficient database management, data integrity, and effective teamwork in a distributed work environment.

What are some common challenges faced by remote SQL Server professionals, and how can they be addressed?

Remote SQL Server professionals often encounter challenges such as maintaining effective communication with on-site teams, managing secure access to databases, and troubleshooting issues without physical access to hardware. To address these, it's important to establish clear communication channels, use secure VPNs and authentication tools, and leverage remote monitoring solutions. Regular virtual meetings and comprehensive documentation can also help ensure smooth collaboration and minimize misunderstandings.

Job description

Design, develop, and enhance RESTful and event‑driven APIs supporting high‑volume payment, reconciliation, and reporting workflows, following secure, versioned, and contract‑first interface practices.

Develop and improve reconciliation and settlement pipelines to increase observability, throughput, and operational resilience across ACH, card, and check processing systems. Define and enforce architecture standards and coding practices across teams, ensuring consistent application of secure, scalable, and maintainable design patterns. Contribute to foundational system architecture and provide technical guidance to distributed engineering teams through code reviews, documentation, and knowledge sharing. Collaborate with Product, UX, and Engineering teams to analyze business requirements and implement scalable, compliant technical solutions. Evaluate technical trade‑offs among delivery timelines, implementation complexity, and long‑term scalability when designing and implementing software components. Implement monitoring, logging, and testing mechanisms to support platform reliability, observability, and release readiness. Improve software development workflows by identifying and addressing inefficiencies in CI/CD pipelines, build processes, and infrastructure automation. Forecast system scaling limits and architectural risks, leading multi‑year modernization initiatives, including service decomposition, modularization, and cloud‑native adoption. Select and standardize technology stacks and architecture patterns, ensuring alignment with security, compliance, performance, and platform guidelines. Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external partners, resolving technical issues related to system integrations, payment networks, and platform interoperability. Provide technical input to customers or internal departments regarding software functionality, system design considerations, and ongoing maintenance activities. Up to 10% domestic travel required to collaborate with Engineering Managers and Engineers on quarterly focus areas and to participate in hackathons. Telecommuting may be permitted up to 2 days per week. When not telecommuting, must report to Entrata Inc., 4205 Chapel Ridge Road, Lehi, UT 84048. Salary: $158,400 - $256,500 per year.
