PURPOSE STATEMENT:

THE BAKERY MACHINE OPERATOR WILL LEARN TO OPERATE A VARIETY OF MECHANIZED BAKERY PRODUCTION EQUIPMENT INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO THE MIXER, DIVIDER, PROOFER, & OVEN. CHECK AND ENSURE PRODUCT SPECIFICATION STANDARDS ARE BEING MET AS REQUIRED BY COMPANY AUTHORIZED STANDARDS WHILE PERFORMING THE TASKS IN A SAFE AND EFFICIENT MANNER.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES (ESSENTIAL DUTIES):

  • VERIFY WEIGHTS AND ORDER COMPLETIONS
  • LOADING AND UNLOADING PANS FROM PRODUCTION LINE
  • LOADING AND UNLOADING OVEN AND/OR PROOF BOX
  • MONITOR FOR FOREIGN MATERIAL ALL THE TIME
  • ENSURE PROPER PLACEMENT OF PRODUCT IN TRAYS
  • REMOVE DOUGH FROM THE CONVEYOR BELTS THAT DO NOT MEET SPECIFICATIONS
  • RESPONSIBLE FOR REPORTING AND TAKING NECESSARY ACTION TO PREVENT FOOD SAFETY AND FOOD QUALITY PROBLEMS FROM OCCURRING
  • RESPONSIBLE FOR FOLLOWING AND ENFORCING PROCEDURES OUTLINED IN THE FOOD SAFETY PLAN, THE FOOD QUALITY PLAN, AND ANY OTHER PROGRAMS THAT SUPPORT THE SQF SYSTEM AND OTHER 3RD PARTY AUDITS.
  • PERFORMS QUALITY ASSURANCE CHECKS; TAKING TEMPERATURES AND WEIGHT OF DOUGH, RECORDING RESULTS ON DOCUMENTATION
  • RECORDS AND ACCOUNTS FOR ALL MATERIALS USED ON THE LINE FOR ASSIGNED SHIFT
  • ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES AS ASSIGNED BY SUPERVISOR
  • EFFECTIVELY COMMUNICATES AS REQUIRED WITH SUPERVISOR OR BAKERY TEAM LEAD.
  • ADHERE TO ALL CGMP'S (CURRENT GOOD MANUFACTURING PRACTICES), SUCH AS GOOD HAND WASHING
  • PRACTICES AND ADHERING TO THE EMPLOYEE HYGIENE PLAN.
  • PERFORMS HOUSEKEEPING AND MAINTENANCE TASKS TO KEEP THE PRODUCTION AREA CLEAN, ORGANIZED AND SAFE. NOT AN ALL-INCLUSIVE LIST, MAY PERFORM OTHER TASKS AS DIRECTED BY MANAGEMENT.

SET-UP & OPERATION OF EQUIPMENT:

  • ENSURES THAT THE NECESSARY TOOLS, SETTINGS, AND SUPPLIES ARE READY PRIOR TO PRODUCTION
  • MONITOR AND ADJUST THE TEMPERATURE CONTROLS OF THE OVEN AND PROOF ROOM
  • OPERATE AND CONTROL AND PERFORM ADJUSTMENTS ON CONVEYORS AND ROLLERS.
  • RECORD INFORMATION SUCH AS DOWN TIME, WASTE, ORDER COMPLETIONS, PACKAGE VERIFICATION, QUALITY ASSURANCE CHECKS, FINISH PRODUCT SCORING ETC.
  • REMOVES AND ASSEMBLES EQUIPMENT FOR CLEANING.
  • MAKES MINOR MACHINE ADJUSTMENT AND INFORMS THE SUPERVISOR AND THE MAINTENANCE DEPARTMENT WHEN MAJOR REPAIRS ARE REQUIRED.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • HIGH SCHOOL DIPLOMA OR GED IS PREFERRED BUT NOT REQUIRED
  • A COMBINATION OF EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE THAT RESULTS IN DEMONSTRATED COMPETENCY TO PERFORM THE WORK MAY BE SUBSTITUTED.
  • ABILITY TO WORK AND COMMUNICATE EFFECTIVELY IN A FAST-PACED ENVIRONMENT AND ADAPT TO FREQUENT CHANGES
  • PRIOR EXPERIENCE OR TRAINING IN MANUFACTURING OR SUPPLY-CHAIN ENVIRONMENT IS PREFERRED
  • ABILITY TO UNDERSTAND AND FOLLOW BOTH WRITTEN AND VERBAL INSTRUCTIONS WITH HIGH LEVEL OF DETAIL
