About the Role

The Project Manager will be based out of our Calgary office and will be responsible for leading electrical engineering projects from proposal and planning through design, construction, and project closeout. This role combines technical leadership, project management, client relationship management, and team development.

We are looking for an experienced professional who enjoys leading multidisciplinary project teams, mentoring technical staff, and delivering exceptional service to clients. The successful candidate will work on a variety of projects, including healthcare, infrastructure, mixed-use developments, institutional facilities, and commercial facilities.


Key Responsibilities

  • Manage electrical engineering projects from inception to completion, including scope, schedule, budget, quality, and client expectations.
    Lead project planning, proposal development, fee estimates, work plans, and resource allocation.
    Provide technical oversight and guidance to Engineers, Designers, Technologists, and Engineers-in-Training (EITs).
    Coordinate multidisciplinary project teams, including architectural, mechanical, structural, interior design, and construction professionals.
    Review and oversee electrical designs, calculations, specifications, reports, and construction documents.
    Attend and lead client meetings, coordination meetings, site visits, and project reviews.
    Support business development activities and maintain strong client relationships.
    Monitor project performance, identify risks, and implement solutions to maintain project objectives.
    Oversee contract administration activities, including shop drawing reviews, change orders, requests for information (RFIs), and field reviews.
    Liaise with utilities, authorities having jurisdiction, contractors, and project stakeholders.
    Support recruitment, onboarding, mentoring, and professional development of team members.
    Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, technical standards, and best practices within the organization.
    Perform other duties as assigned.


Our Must Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or a related discipline.
    Professional Engineering designation (P.Eng.) or eligibility for registration with APEGA.
    Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in electrical consulting engineering, project management, or building systems design.
    Demonstrated experience managing electrical engineering projects through all phases of design and construction.
    Strong knowledge of electrical systems, including power distribution, lighting, life safety, communications, and security systems.
    Thorough understanding of the Canadian Electrical Code and applicable building, energy, and industry standards.
    Proven ability to manage project scope, schedules, budgets, resources, and client expectations.
    Experience coordinating multidisciplinary teams and working directly with clients and stakeholders.
    Demonstrated ability to mentor and support the development of Engineers-in-Training (EITs), Technologists, Designers, and other technical staff.
    Strong leadership, communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
    Ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities in a fast-paced consulting environment.
    Strong attention to detail, organization, and commitment to delivering high-quality work.
    Proficiency with AutoCAD and Microsoft Office applications; experience with Revit would be considered an asset.
