This senior-level contract role offers long-term stability, multi-year funding, and the chance to lead complex technical workflows and database operations. The Team You Will Be Joining
You will be joining the Texas Department of Information Resources (DIR), a fast-paced, collaborative technology agency powered by dedicated professionals who serve as the cornerstone of public sector technology in Texas. Working within the Chief Operations Office and CCTS Work Orders & Directory Services team, you will act as a senior subject matter expert supporting enterprise voice systems, database workflows, and service delivery frameworks.
Major Duties
  • Oversee advanced and high-priority telecommunications work orders, serving as an escalation point for complex technical or administrative agency issues.
  • Perform high-level administration within Cisco enterprise telephony systems, Net Plus, and CTS tele-management systems.
  • Analyze system performance, work order metrics, and database accuracy to recommend and implement process improvements.
  • Coordinate with external telecommunications vendors, contractors, and service providers regarding installation, maintenance, and system modifications.
  • Provide guidance, technical assistance, and operational mentoring to junior team members on complex MACD requests and directory management.
  • Manage high-profile agency relationships, ensuring tight alignment with state service level agreements (SLAs).
What are we looking for?
  • Experience: 5+ years of advanced experience in enterprise telecommunications, network voice administration, or complex telecom operational environments.
  • Advanced Expertise: Deep understanding of telecommunications principles, complex line routing, voice database architecture, and vendor liaison procedures.
  • System Mastery: Advanced hands-on proficiency in Cisco database software, CTS, and Net Plus (or equivalent enterprise telecom management platforms).
