Job Description:

The Audio Visual (AV) Operator is responsible for setting upandoperating audio, video, and multimedia equipment used to support meetings, conferences, training sessions, and live or virtual events. This role ensures high-quality AV experiences by coordinating with stakeholders, preparing technical environments, and providing real-timeoperationalsupport.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide guidance for the analysis, maintenance, and modification of complex

  • Telecommunication systems to meet operations standards.

  • Provide guidance regarding complex telecommunication systems usage and recommend changes as appropriate.

  • Coordinate with event organizers, presenters, and technical staff to understand requirements and confirm equipment needs.

  • Conduct equipment testing, calibration, and system checks in advance of events.

  • Set upandoperate audio visual equipment including microphones, projectors, speakers, monitors, cameras, video switchers, and conferencing systems.

  • Support in-person, hybrid, and virtual meetings and events, ensuring high-quality audio and video delivery.

  • Manage and monitor AV systems during live events to quicklyidentify,issues.

  • Handle AVlivestreams, and playback when required.

  • Request equipment maintenance or replacements as needed.

  • Submit trouble tickets forhardware and software problems to Tier 2 and 3 support teams for repair or replacement

  • Ensure AV setups comply with organizational standards, safety guidelines, and security protocols.

  • Document event setups, troubleshooting actions, and equipment performance.

Qualifications

  • Must have3+years of experience

  • Must possess an active TopSecret clearance

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a DHS Entry on Duty (EOD)at the SCI level

  • Experience operating and supporting professional audio, video, and conferencing systems.

  • Working knowledge of AV signals, equipment types, and troubleshooting methods.

  • Experience with hybrid meeting platforms (e.g., Microsoft Teams, Zoom, Webex).

  • Ability to lift and move AV equipment as needed.

  • Strong communication, customer service, and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in fast-paced environments.

  • Must be able to work morning andevening shift

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with enterprise-level AV infrastructure or control systems (e.g., Crestron, Extron, Biamp).

  • Industry certifications (e.g., CTS, AVIXA) are a plus.

  • Experience supporting federal/enterprise environments with security or access requirements.

The likely salary range for this position is $93,662 - $107,712. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
