The Role

The Senior Construction Engineer reports to the Manager of Engineering and plays a pivotal role in the design, planning, and execution of complex infrastructure, telecommunications, and building projects. This role requires deep technical expertise, a passion for innovation, and a strong commitment to safety and engineering excellence.

The successful candidate will combine strong engineering expertise with innovative thinking to deliver scalable, cost-effective, and sustainable solutions while ensuring compliance with all safety, quality, and regulatory requirements. The role requires leadership of cross-functional teams, engagement with external engineering and construction partners, and the application of emerging technologies and construction methodologies to improve project outcomes.

This is a work from home position within the U.S.

The Main Responsibilities
  • Lead a multidisciplinary team of engineers, project managers, and solution architects for multiple large-scale telecommunications and infrastructure projects.
  • Lead solution development involving network architecture, civil engineering, site development, outside plant (OSP) infrastructure, mechanical, electrical, and prime power systems.
  • Create complex Scopes of Work, Architectural & Engineering (A&E) designs, and Construction Drawings (CDs) as well as project schedules, budgets, resource requirements, risk mitigation plans, governances, and performance metrics.
  • Ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with company standards and comply with applicable codes, regulations, permitting requirements, and industry standards.
  • Oversee route planning, fiber assignments, network capacity requirements, and infrastructure acceptance activities.
What We Look For in a Candidate
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related technical discipline; or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • Minimum 8 years of engineering, construction, telecommunications, or infrastructure project experience.
  • Demonstrated experience leading complex engineering and construction projects through the full project lifecycle.
  • Strong knowledge of construction management principles, engineering practices, project controls, and safety requirements.
  • Experience managing external engineering firms, contractors, and construction vendors.
  • Working knowledge of OSP engineering standards and telecommunications network deployment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word, and Project.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and perform effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent professional certification.
  • Experience with telecommunications fiber network design and deployment.
  • Experience with civil engineering and site development projects.
  • Knowledge of Lean Construction, Design-Build, or Integrated Project Delivery (IPD) methodologies.
  • Familiarity with digital construction platforms such as Autodesk Construction Cloud, Procore, or similar systems.
  • Experience implementing innovative construction technologies and sustainable design practices.
  • Understanding of sustainability frameworks, energy-efficient infrastructure, and carbon reduction initiatives.
Compensation
This information reflects the anticipated base salary range for this position based on current national data. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. Individual pay is based on skills, experience and other relevant factors.
