Overview

Working within Sequoyah's Critical Facilities department, this position handles multiple projects and responsibilities while serving as the Company's representative on project teams. Responsible for creating bid opportunities, generating sales, estimating and management oversight of assigned projects, coordinating field labor, material and equipment, ensuring that work is proceeding on schedule and within budget.


Responsibilities

Responsibilities for this role fall under Business Development, Account Management and Project Management:

Business Development

  • Identifies and acquires new strategic accounts to meet annual sales goals.
  • Initiates contact with existing and potential customers; identifies their needs or project requirements and sells appropriate services to meet those needs.
  • Prepares and presents effective sales proposals to new and existing customers that develop profitable results.
  • Develops estimates and budgets for customers and projects.

Account Management

  • Interacts with customers regularly to anticipate their needs, ensure their satisfaction and repeat business.
  • Acts as an escalation point for resolving complex customer requirements for assigned accounts.
  • Responsible for overall financial performance of assigned accounts.
  • Responsible for client communications, conflict resolution, and compliance on client deliverables.

Operations / Project Management

  • Management oversight of assigned projects, coordinating field labor, material and equipment, ensuring that work is proceeding on schedule and within budget.
  • Reviews contracts and negotiates with Owner, Contractor and Subcontractors.
  • Develops baseline schedules for projects to reflect accurate labor, material, equipment and subcontract time requirements and project constraints.
  • Completes project budgets and monitors job cost weekly for accuracy; complete monthly work in progress (WIP) reports for review / discussion.
  • Maintains accurate, current and complete records for all projects to measure and document both project and team progress and results from planning through closure of the project.
  • Promotes safe jobsites and works with the Safety Director to ensure all safety issues are properly addressed.

Qualifications

Qualifications for this position include 3+ years of project management experience in data center and/or telecom installation. This person will also possess:

  • Basic knowledge of electrical construction, low voltage systems, DC power, general data center standards, critical equipment, redundant infrastructure, and mission critical deployments.
  • Thorough knowledge of construction cost, accounting, scheduling, estimating and engineering principles and techniques.

Skills and Abilities

Success in this role require the ability to generate sales within data centers for electrical and low voltage systems and infrastructure. In addition they will have:

  • Ability to estimate projects, evaluate and apply estimates and price change orders
  • Experience managing projects and approves decisions concerning the project cost, time, and performance based on an agreed to baseline plan requirements
  • Established accounts and relationships within the data center industry
