Job description

Job Title: Telecom Project Coordinator

Location: Hazelwood, MO 63042 (Onsite)

Type: Contract

JOB DESCRIPTION: Prior work with telecommunications suppliers on circuit deliveries.

  • Program, project, and service management skills.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of link layer (LAN protocols), network (routing protocols), and transport layer protocols (TCP and UDP)
  • Familiarity with network backbones, campus networks, and data center networks
  • Familiarity with DSL, cable, wireless, and fiber optic connections and other related services.
  • Self-motivated, with the ability to work independently after receiving initial direction.
  • Effective working together and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to analyze complex issues and convey results in both verbal and written form.
  • 8 or more years of experience with information transport systems.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Ability to work with multiple Internet service providers for network connectivity between campuses.
  • Coordinate and facilitate operational and logistical support of transport (circuit)-related requests with and between multiple groups.
  • Liaise with the client''''s supplier management to track circuit orders through the ordering and provisioning process.
  • Tracking of service request submissions and/or requests for information related to circuit orders.
  • Research Network Service Requests for members of the Global Access Design team.
  • Coordinate select level 2 & 3 break-fix activities with suppliers and client partners related to circuits.
  • Ability to work well on virtual teams across multiple time zones.
  • This position will require some after-hours work to support production-impacting maintenance activities.
  • This position allows telecommuting. The selected candidate will be required to perform work onsite.
  • Participate in the network transport ordering and provisioning process as a member of the network transport team
  • Candidate to work with appropriate business partners to ensure network transport requirements are captured in network service requests.
  • The candidate will manage requests through the lifecycle, including requirements specification, order placement, test & turn-up, service review, and disconnection.

Required skills:

  • Needs a PC with a basic tech background and circuit provisioning understanding.
