What does a telecom project manager do?

A telecom project manager oversees the planning, execution, and completion of telecommunications projects, ensuring they meet deadlines, budgets, and technical specifications. They coordinate teams, manage resources, communicate with stakeholders, and often use project management tools like MS Project or Primavera. Certification such as PMP can enhance their effectiveness in managing complex projects.

What is the highest paying job in telecommunications?

These roles typically require extensive experience, advanced technical skills, and leadership capabilities in managing large-scale networks and strategic planning.

How does a Telecom Project Manager typically collaborate with cross-functional teams during large-scale deployments?

Telecom Project Managers regularly coordinate with engineering, procurement, field operations, and client teams to ensure all project milestones are met on time and within budget. They facilitate regular meetings to address technical issues, align schedules, and manage resource allocation. Effective communication and stakeholder management are essential, as the role often involves balancing competing priorities and resolving conflicts between departments. This collaborative approach helps ensure successful network rollouts and upgrades.

What are the 4 types of project managers?

In the context of a Telecom Project Manager, the four main types of project managers are functional, projectized, matrix, and hybrid. Functional managers work within specific departments, projectized managers lead entire projects independently, matrix managers operate across departments with shared authority, and hybrid combines elements of these structures. Project Manager

This isn't a project management role for people who just "keep things moving."

CULT Collective is looking for a Project Manager to join us-someone who understands that great project management isn't about timelines and checklists alone, but about driving clarity, momentum, and outcomes across complex, fast-moving work.

We're not an agency where PMs sit on the sidelines coordinating tasks. We're a brand advisory firm where project management is the connective tissue between strategy, creative, and execution, ensuring the work not only gets done, but gets done right.

We work across brand, CX, and content to help businesses create and capture demand. That means projects are rarely linear, and success depends on someone who can bring structure to ambiguity, keep teams aligned, and ensure nothing slips through the cracks.

If that excites you, read on.

This role is for you if...

You're past the "task tracker" phase and into the "owning outcomes" stage.

You know that great project management isn't reactive. It's proactive, communicative, and deeply embedded in how teams operate. You don't just manage timelines, you anticipate risks, align people, and keep momentum strong.

You likely have:

  • 3-6 years of experience in project management within an agency, consultancy, or similar environment
  • Experience managing cross-functional teams across strategy, creative, and production
  • Strong client-facing communication skills
  • A proven ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, and stakeholders simultaneously

You're highly organized.

You're detail-oriented without losing sight of the bigger picture.
And you're someone people trust to keep things on track, even when things get complicated.

What you'll actually do here

As a Project Manager at CULT, you'll play a critical role in ensuring projects are delivered seamlessly-from kickoff through to completion.

Project Planning & Execution

  • Develop detailed project plans outlining scope, timelines, and required resources
  • Collaborate with account, strategy, and creative teams to build realistic and effective schedules
  • Ensure projects are initiated efficiently, milestones are clear, and delivery stays on time and on budget

Resource Management

  • Allocate and manage resources to optimize team capacity and output
  • Monitor workloads and adjust assignments as needed
  • Anticipate constraints early and proactively communicate solutions

Communication & Collaboration

  • Act as the central point of coordination across internal teams and stakeholders
  • Facilitate regular project check-ins to track progress, resolve issues, and align next steps
  • Ensure seamless collaboration across account, creative, and production teams

Budget Management & Reporting

  • Support project scoping alongside Account Management and senior leadership
  • Track budgets, expenses, and burn rates to ensure financial alignment
  • Provide accurate reporting to internal stakeholders, including finance and leadership
  • Identify efficiencies and cost-saving opportunities

Documentation & Process

  • Maintain clear and comprehensive project documentation (briefs, timelines, communications)
  • Develop and distribute project status updates for internal and client teams
  • Conduct post-project reviews to identify improvements and optimize future workflows

Quality Assurance

  • Ensure all deliverables meet CULT's standards and client expectations
  • Review work for accuracy, consistency, and completeness prior to delivery
  • Collaborate on feedback loops to continuously improve output quality

Relationship Management

  • Build strong, trusted relationships with account teams and clients
  • Communicate clearly, proactively, and consistently on project status
  • Address questions, challenges, and feedback with responsiveness and care

Risk Management & Problem Solving

  • Identify potential risks early and develop mitigation strategies
  • Navigate changes in scope or direction with a solutions-oriented mindset
  • Escalate risks when needed and recommend clear paths forward

Financial Growth Support

  • Partner with account teams to support revenue growth within existing clients

Continuous Improvement

  • Stay current on project management best practices, tools, and industry trends
  • Apply learnings from past projects to improve future performance
  • Actively seek feedback to support personal and team growth

What we're looking for (and what we're not)

You are:

  • Highly organized and operationally strong
  • A clear communicator who keeps everyone aligned
  • Proactive, not reactive
  • Calm under pressure and capable of navigating complexity
  • A collaborative team player who elevates those around you

You are not:

  • Someone who waits to be told what to do
  • A "traffic coordinator" who only tracks tasks
  • Easily overwhelmed by shifting priorities
  • Afraid to speak up when something is off track

Think owner of outcomes, not just manager of timelines.
