What is the Opportunity?

This is how Aecon Utilities is committed to delivering projects.  As part of our Aecon Utilities sector, Aecon Telecommunications (Telecom) works with major providers across North America to assist with turnkey fiber installation, 5G network expansions and servicing legacy networks.

Reporting to the Manager Operations, the Project Coordinator supports project planning and execution by coordinating schedules, documentation, site activities, and compliance needs. The role assists Operations Managers and Superintendents with daily operations, tracks costs and progress, helps manage change orders and risks, and communicates with internal teams, subcontractors, clients, and regulators to ensure efficient project delivery.

Location: Stouffville, ON, & Hamilton, ON

What You'll Do Here: 

  • Support the Operations Manager with project data, analysis, and reporting
  • Assist with scheduling work crews and coordinating site previews, inspections, and utility locates
  • Manage inventory for materials, specialty tools, and equipment, including procurement, maintenance, and certification
  • Monitor equipment status, scan idle units, and review weekly utilization and idling reports to correct misallocations
  • Maintain the worker Training Matrix and support yard facility operations and upkeep
  • Receive, validate, and process incoming materials, ensuring safe and organized yard storage
  • Assist with vendor pricing agreements and collect required safety and experience documentation from subcontractors
  • Track safety inspections and reporting in alignment with Aecon's Health, Safety & Environmental standards
  • Review and summarize Quality Assurance nonconformances and support followup actions
  • Analyze data from various systems to improve operational efficiency and prepare customerrequired reports
  • Deliver rush materials or tooling to crews when needed
  • Perform additional duties as required

What You Bring to theTeam:

  • Recent graduate in Civil or Construction Technology/Technician
  • Experience in utility construction is an asset
  • Proficient with MS Excel, Word, and MS Project
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Selfmotivated with solid organizational abilities
  • Flexible and able to adjust to changing schedules and deadlines
  • Collaborative team player
  • Valid Ontario Class G driver's license

Reason for Vacancy: New

Pay Range: $60,000 - $75,000

Individual pay is determined based on several factors, including work location, education, experience, unique skills and job conditions. Other considerations may include certifications, specialized training, and the complexity or scope of the role.
