Job description

Job Summary:
EchoStar is reimagining the future of connectivity, and they are seeking a Data Engineer II at DISH Wireless. The role involves maintaining a CI/CD pipeline for data software, developing AI/ML platforms, and optimizing data pipelines for telecom applications.
Responsibilities:
• Maintain a CI/CD pipeline for our data software to ensure we keep quality high and time to market low.
• Develop, deploy, automate and maintain next generation AI/ML platform and pipelines.
• Ingest and process streaming data from telecom sources (5G/4G network logs, IoT sensors, edge devices) using platforms to enable near-real-time AI analytics.
• Lead large scale, data driven initiatives in order to drive enhanced visibility and quality of the wireless network.
• Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines to collect, process, and integrate large-scale telecom data (e.g., call detail records, network telemetry, OSS/BSS data, customer usage patterns).
• Implement feature engineering pipelines for AI/ML models, collaborating closely with data scientists to operationalize features for model training and inference.
• Optimize data storage and retrieval strategies for high-volume, high-velocity telecom datasets across cloud and edge environments.
• Automate infrastructure provisioning and orchestration for data and AI workloads using CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation).
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize data pipelines to ensure low-latency, high-throughput data flows for AI-driven telecom applications.
Qualifications:
Required:
• Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a closely related field
• 2 years of experience in job offered or similar roles
• 2 years of experience with Kafka
• 2 years of experience with Spark Streaming
• 2 years of experience with PostgreSQL
• 2 years of experience with NoSQL (MongoDB)
• 2 years of experience with ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) concepts
• 2 years of experience with Python
• 2 years of experience with Airflow
• 2 years of experience with Source control Systems (Github)
• 2 years of experience with CICD Tools (Github CICD)
• 2 years of experience with Linux-like systems
• 2 years of experience with AI Model Management Systems (Amazon Bedrock or Sagemaker)
