High Voltage Cable Engineer โ€“ Underground and Submarine cable

Your new role

As our new Electrical Engineer, you will join a team of more than 50 passionate and high performing HV, MV and LV specialists working predominantly within the global Energy industry. We are particularly focused on offshore wind, power-to-X, carbon capture and energy transition projects. We cover all phases of project delivery including concept and feasibility studies, detailed engineering, EPC and follow-on engineering on international projects.

Your key role will be:

  • Reviewing project documents and preparing technical reports
  • Cable rating and thermal calculations
  • Onshore cable bonding design and jointing arrangement
  • Onshore cable route development and installation strategy (e.g. direct burial, HDD and drilling, crossing design)
  • Assessing interface with transition joint bay, substation, and civil works
  • Cable factory and site inspection during cable manufacturing and installation (traveling abroad may require)

Your new team

You will be part of the Power Systems department at Ramboll Delft, where we support our clients on due diligence, permitting, compliance (audit), management systems and a wide variety of other EHS projects. We work on challenging projects together with colleagues around the world from our Environmental and Health Division, and with other Ramboll Divisions.

About you

These include:

  • Completed university degree in Electrical Engineering
  • +3 yearsโ€™ experience in onshore (underground) HV cable design 66KV up to 400KV
  • Experience in Cymcap or other cable rating software
  • Experience in working with cable related international and local standards
  • Fluent in English. Dutch and German languages are big plus to deal with local clients
  • Experience in cable accessories is a plus
  • Experience in cable installation and civil works is a big plus
  • Experience with Fiber optic cable is a plus
