We have an immediate opening for an Assistant Environmental Manager to lead a team of environmental specialists to ensure compliance on a high-profile construction project involving high-voltage transmission lines, substations, and telecom facilities in Nevada. This is an excellent opportunity for an emerging environmental professional to support a team of specialists and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate will have experience in the transmission line industry and a strong foundation in environmental compliance practices.


Responsibilities
  • Assist the Environmental Manager in leading and mentoring a team of environmental specialists, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
  • Support the team in ensuring adherence to all environmental regulations and standards set by federal, state, and local agencies, specifically emphasizing compliance with Bureau of Land Management (BLM) requirements.
  • Help communicate environmental restrictions and concerns with construction management, crews, and schedulers to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Assist in developing and implementing project compliance plans, including SWPPP, SPCC, dust management, reclamation strategies, etc.
  • Provide support to construction teams during pre-construction, planning, and permitting activities.
  • Assist in conducting and overseeing environmental impact assessments, site evaluations, and risk assessments.
  • Help manage the acquisition of essential environmental and local permits, ensuring compliance with all conditions and stipulations.
  • Work with the Ownerโ€™s environmental team and CIC to obtain necessary variances.
  • Assist in coordinating with regulatory agencies and other stakeholders to address environmental concerns and ensure transparent communication.
  • Help implement and oversee environmental monitoring programs, maintain accurate records, and prepare reports for regulatory agencies and project stakeholders.
  • Support developing and implementing effective mitigation strategies to minimize environmental impacts and ensure the project's success.
  • Assist in providing ongoing training and guidance to team members and project staff on environmental best practices and regulatory requirements.
