Job description

CTG is seeking an experienced HP-UX System Administrator with a strong telecommunications background to support and maintain mission-critical enterprise infrastructure. This role requires deep expertise in HP-UX administration, high-availability environments, storage management, system performance tuning, and DevOps support within telecom operations.
Location: Piscataway, NJ
Duration: 12 Months
Key Responsibilities
  • Administer and support HP-UX servers in a high-availability telecommunications environment.
  • Manage and maintain HP Serviceguard clusters to ensure system uptime and reliability.
  • Perform system installations, upgrades, patching, and recovery using Ignite-UX.
  • Administer storage environments utilizing LVM, VxVM, and SAN technologies.
  • Develop and maintain automation scripts using Korn Shell (ksh) and Bash.
  • Monitor system health, performance, and capacity; identify and resolve infrastructure issues proactively.
  • Manage enterprise backup and recovery solutions, including NetBackup and Data Protector.
  • Support NFS, LDAP, TCP/IP networking, and related infrastructure services.
  • Implement security hardening and compliance best practices.
  • Collaborate with DevOps, engineering, and operations teams to support deployments and infrastructure enhancements.
  • Participate in disaster recovery planning, testing, and execution.

The expected base salary for this position ranges from $98,000 to $105,000. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, market factors, and where applicable, licensure or certifications obtained. In addition to salary, a competitive benefit package is also offered.
