Job description

AdventHealth Orlando is expanding its Advanced Lung Disease Institute and seeks a dynamic ILD-focused Pulmonologist to join our growing, multidisciplinary program. This full-time position offers the opportunity to provide comprehensive care across the ILD and sarcoidosis spectrum, contribute to program development, and participate in research and education within recently established but rapidly growing ILD and Sarcoidosis program  aligned with a lung transplant program.

AdventHealth is making major investments in Lung Health, expanding pulmonary subspecialties—including interventional pulmonology (IP)—growing our thoracic surgery team, and scaling the lung transplant program with a goal of 75–100 transplants per year. We also offer a thriving pulmonary hypertension program, dedicated thoracic radiology services, and experienced rheumatology support to strengthen our ILD care.

Requirements:

 

  • Fellowship training in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine
  • Board certification or eligibility through ABMS or AOA in Pulmonology
  • Active FL License, or ability to obtain is must
  • Previous ILD training or work-experience in following ILD patients at longitudinal ILD clinic is required.
  • Spanish speaking skill will be a valuable asset.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsibilities include comprehensive care for patients with advanced lung disease with emphasis in ILD in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
  • The newly established ILD and Sarcoidosis Center is growing rapidly. Clinical duties will include providing specialized care for the patients in ILD center at Orlando. The plan is to expand this service by establishing satellite clinics in future.
  • We welcome any interest in participating in the care of sarcoidosis patients in the clinic.
  • Clinic is supported by APPs and a Pulmonary gellowship program launching in 2026.
  • Opportunity to collaborate with multidisciplinary team of rheumatologist,

radiologists, pathologists, advanced lung disease experts and transplant specialists by engaging in weekly MDD and community MDD.

  • Successful candidate will also be expected to provide inpatient care in ILD consults service. In future, inpatient ILD consult service will include remote tele consults in many of the advent health community hospitals
  • Priority will be given to candidates with expertise in lung transplantation, reflecting our commitment to integrated, multi-disciplinary excellence
  • His/Her clinical duties will also include MICU rotations. Each rotation consists of 7 days’ daytime block (no night call).
  • Strong research environment with ample opportunities for clinical research including funded institutional and industry-sponsored studies exist at Advent health. We are building robust research credentials for ILD and sarcoidosis with new clinical trials underway. Engagement in clinical research will be strongly encouraged.
