Description

El Paso County is seeking to engage one temporary contingent staff member for a 3 month contract to support a critical Smartsheet improvement initiative. The consultant will quickly acclimate to an existing Smartsheet architecture and enhance functionality, usability, and adoption across the organization. This is not net-new implementation—it’s enhancement, troubleshooting, and scaling. Responsibilities include: Decompose stakeholder requirements, lead solution demonstrations, support testing and UAT, and provide knowledge transfer to ensure successful implementation. Improve an existing Smartsheet PPM framework and Resource Management environment to support resource planning, time tracking, forecasting, capacity management, and utilization reporting. Configure and enhance reports, dashboards, workflows, and automations to improve project governance, visibility, and operational efficiency. Provide expert guidance on Smartsheet architecture, governance, and portfolio management best practices. Develop and deploy Control Center blueprints, intake workflows, templates, automated project provisioning, and governance processes. Additional scope includes: Resolving defects within the current environment, particularly within Resource Management integrations and automation gaps Implementing timecard functionality and improving visibility into resource capacity (including integration of external PTO/time data) Enhancing and tailoring dashboards for various leadership views and stakeholders The environment currently supports approximately 80 users within the DST department, with adoption at ~20% among project managers and team leaders. The consultant will help improve usability and drive broader adoption, particularly for time tracking across all users.
