Position Information
Job Title Instructor Ram Success English Position Summary

Teach ENG 0300 Ram Success English, RDG 0301 Ram Success Reading, WRT-0311 Writing for Non-Native speakers, and RDG-0311 Reading for Non-Native speakers.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • The course requires three hours of instruction each week for the duration of the Spring Semester 2023.
  • The instructor will meet with the Ram Success Programs Coordinator to ensure course content is delivered adequately on a timely basis.
  • The instructor will maintain regular office hours and will provide contact information, including email address and telephone information, to local and distant education students.
  • Prepares lessons and provides instruction for course work.
  • Adheres to the established classroom, office , and exam schedules. Submits contracts, book requests, syllabi, grades, evaluations, and other required paperwork and reports by due dates.
  • The class will be taught face to face.

Education, Certifications and/or Licenses
  • Master's Degree, with at least 18 hours of graduate level English courses.
  • TEFL/TESOL certification preferred.

Experience
  • Experience in college-level teaching using active learning techniques and best practices.
  • Experience in assessment of learning outcomes.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Proficiency with an integrated administrative system and current software programs.
  • Ability to professionally represent and promote the profession and Wesleyan to the public.
  • Demonstrated ability and strong interest in providing quality education and quality service.
  • Familiarity with academic policies and procedures of higher education institutions.
  • Ability to work effectively with other University personnel.
  • Ability to comply with rules, standards, regulations and laws related to student records.
  • Ability to adhere to University and departmental policies and procedures.
  • Ability to handle confidential & sensitive matters while complying with FERPA regulations.
  • Skill in organizing resources and establishing priorities.
  • Ability to be dedicated to the program's success and to individual students.
  • Ability to work well with diverse faculty, staff, students, and other constituents of the University.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret discipline-related periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures and regulations.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from students, groups of managers, University employees, and the general public.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
