Job description

Asphalt Green is looking to hire experienced Front Desk staff to cover our Fitness Center at the Upper East Side location (1750 York Avenue at East 91st St.). The Fitness Center is 16,000sf spread over two floors with all the equipment anyone needs to get a good workout. The Membership and Fitness Departments are a part of a larger non-profit organization focused on programs, classes, clinics, and camps for adults and children. We offer soccer, basketball, volleyball, and martial arts to name a few of the many sports we offer (see www.asphaltgreen.org for more information on us).
We have part-time positions available with specific shifts to fill. We open at 5:00a.m. 7 days a week, 365 days a year. We are looking to fill the following:
  • Saturday and Sunday 8:00a.m. - 1:00p.m. AND/OR 1:00p.m. - 6:00p.m.

This is a good opportunity to sharpen administrative skills as you welcome members and guests, respond to questions, provide directions, and maintain security. If you enjoy interacting with people and are a problem solver, this is the role for you!
Responsibilities:
Monitor and/or respond to Fitness Department emails and Teams chats escalating, as necessary.
Monitor voicemails for both Fitness and Membership, particularly when Membership Consultants are not in the office.
Use Mindbody software to add and/or check in guests, respond to questions, etc.
Use Salesforce to respond to questions on memberships, upgrades, cancellations, billing, credit cards, etc. Sell or renew memberships. Provide statements of account when requested.
Learn both Membership and Fitness policies to accurately respond to all questions and concerns.
Alert appropriate parties (department management or Housekeeping) on facility related matters e.g. towel inventory and presentation, condition of mats and blankets, availability of wipes, etc.
Stay current on all marketing initiatives and sales promotions.
Schedule teen evaluations upon request.
Strong communications skills - verbal and written.
Ability to handle questions, concerns and challenges with tact, firmness, and a sense of humor.
Demonstrated ability to multi-task.
Front desk/reception work history at a health club, spa, or hotel.
Knowledge of Mindbody and/or Salesforce is a plus.
