Compensation Range:
Position Summary:
Hiring Salary Range: $51,934.60 - $57,255.05 depending on qualifications
The Surgical Technology Instructor role requires a strong foundation in surgical technology practices, effective communication skills, and a commitment to education. For all didactic, laboratory and clinical instruction to which a student is assigned, there must be a qualified individual(s) clearly designated by the program to provide instruction, supervision, and timely assessments of the students' progress in meeting program requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide engaging and effective instruction in core surgical technology courses, adhering to the current Core Curriculum guidelines.
  • Evaluate student performance, provide constructive feedback, and maintain accurate academic records.
  • Deliver a quality educational experience for students at clinical sites, ensuring they meet the necessary competencies for certification.
  • Work with program leadership to support academic goals and mission and collaborate with Clinical Managers and Educational Coordinators.
  • Participate in faculty meetings, curriculum development, and programmatic assessments as needed.

Required Qualifications:
Faculty/instructional staff must be effective in teaching and knowledgeable in subject matter as documented by appropriate professional credential(s)/certification(s), education and experience in the designated content area.
Faculty with instructional responsibilities in core surgical technology courses must:
Be a graduate of an education program in surgical technology accredited by a nationally recognized programmatic accreditation agency; and Possess a credential in the field of surgical technology through a national certification program that is accredited by the National Commission on Certifying Agencies (NCCA); and Have a minimum of two years of experience, either in the operating room scrub role or as an instructor in surgical Technology, or a combination of both, within the past five years.
Supplemental Job Information:
To be considered, applicants must have been awarded the qualifying degree and/or qualifying graduate semester hours. A faculty screening committee will analyze the strength of your application materials. You should include a complete online application, CV, cover letter, unofficial transcripts, and professional references. Applicants with a qualifying degree from an educational institution outside the United States and Canada must submit a foreign credential evaluation from one of the members of the National Association of Credential Evaluations Services (website: www.naces.org). To complete your application, you must attach a copy of your graduate academic transcripts from an institution of higher education, showing attainment of at least the minimum qualifications. If the transcript has not been updated to show the awarding of the required degree, applicants must bring written documentation from the educational institution showing when the degree was awarded.
Pay Rate:
Faculty members will be assigned to the appropriate salary grade based on the contract with the faculty union.
  • Grade 2: Master's Degree with 18 graduate semester hours in the field $51,934.60
  • Grade 2+: Master's Degree with 60 graduate semester hours in the field $54,594.23
  • Grade 1: Earned Doctor in major field $57,255.05
