Join our team to play a pivotal role in mitigating tech risks and upholding operational excellence, driving innovation in risk management.
As a Tech Risk & Controls Lead in the CFP Infrastructure Platforms team, you will be responsible for identifying, and mitigating compliance and operational risks in line with the firm's standards. You will also provide subject matter expertise and technical guidance to technology-aligned process owners, ensuring that implemented controls are operating effectively and in compliance with regulatory, legal, and industry standards. By partnering with various stakeholders, including Product Owners, Business Control Managers, and Regulators, you will contribute to the reporting of a comprehensive view of technology risk posture and its impact on the business. Your advanced knowledge of risk management principles, practices, and theories will enable you to drive innovative solutions in a dynamic and evolving risk landscape.
You will build strong working relationships with Application Owners, operations teams, clients, and business partners to deliver end-to-end infrastructure services related to the management of Technology Group Owners' (TGO) production applications, services, products, business functions, and staff. The Tech Risk & Controls Lead will work across multiple levels within the organization to identify, socialize, and mitigate technology-related risks. You should possess knowledge of architectural solutions, service delivery, and a high-level understanding of product and service level component failure impact.
Job responsibilities
  • Manage and drive risk and control governance for the Infrastructure Platforms Database Product Line.
  • Partner with database engineers to identify risk and/or control deficiencies across multiple database products.
  • Ensure effective identification, quantification, communication, and management of technology risk, focusing on root cause analysis and resolution recommendations.
  • Develop and maintain robust relationships, becoming a trusted partner with LOB technologists, assessments teams, and data officers to facilitate cross-functional collaboration and progress toward shared goals.
  • Execute reporting and governance of controls, policies, issue management, and measurements, offering senior management insights into control effectiveness and inform governance work.
  • Proactively monitor and evaluate control effectiveness, identify gaps, and recommend enhancements to strengthen risk posture and regulatory compliance.
  • Prepare regular governance reporting materials on the state of the control environment.
  • Investigate and respond to metrics, triggers and alerts which may indicate a potential control issue.
  • Review standards and controls against regulatory requirements and industry practices.
  • Partner with stakeholders from across the bank to assist in their execution of various technology risk management processes.
  • Mentor and educate database engineering staff on critical risk framework.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
  • 5+ years of experience or equivalent expertise in technology risk management, information security, or related field, emphasizing risk identification, assessment, and mitigation.
  • Familiarity with risk management frameworks, industry standards, and financial industry regulatory requirements.
  • Proficient knowledge and expertise in data security, risk assessment & reporting, control evaluation, design, and governance, with a proven record of implementing effective risk mitigation strategies.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide deep technical insights as it relates to software, hardware, infrastructure, and emerging technologies.
  • Skilled at influencing executive-level strategic decision-making and translating complex technology insights into actionable business strategies for senior leadership.
  • Data Analytics Skills using Excel and other data analysis tools.
  • Creates and promotes a culture of continuous process improvement with a risk and controls mindset.
  • Attested track record of working to deadlines, delivering results, with accountability and responsibility for independent workload.
  • Relationship building and networking across firm's functions and geographies to expand influence, knowledge, and collaboration with senior leadership.

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
  • Understand of database products such as Oracle, SQLServer, Cassandra, Postgres, etc.
  • An understanding of Enterprise Risk Management practices in a technical environment.
  • Technical and operational understanding of financial services regulations.
  • Knowledge of technology infrastructure (i.e. Database, Network, Storage, Cloud technology, Compute).
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks while maintaining high delivery standards, incorporating risk and controls, and engaging in technical discovery beyond the current implementation.
  • CISM, CRISC, CISSP, or similar industry-recognized risk certifications are preferred.
  • Familiarity with using JIRA, Confluence, Alteryx, Tableau.
