Job description

Assistant Account Executive - Technology Public Relations
LOCATION: Our East Coast Tech PR team is headquartered in New York, NY. We seek applicants for this AAE role who reside in the metropolitan NYC area. This role requires working in-office 3 days per week + 2 days per week working remotely from home. (Option to work all 5 weekdays in-office is also available.) At this time we have one job opening in the department that can be filled either by a qualified PR AAE or PR AE. This is the PR AAE ad.
We're seeking qualified metro NYC area public relations candidates to join our industry-leading technology public relations practice who have previous Technology PR work experience/internship experience (preferably in an agency setting), have already earned a college degree (public relations, communications, journalism), have excellent writing skills, and are ready for immediate hire for this full-time position. (This is not an internship or sales role.)

Our East Coast Technology Public Relations team is one of the best in the industry! We seek candidates who are passionate about communications, ready to roll up their sleeves, and want to contribute to our team's success on behalf of clients. This is an opportunity to support media relations and implement communications campaigns for clients who are leaders in tech - including those focused on remote work, artificial intelligence, robotics, fintech, sustainability, cybersecurity, cloud computing, and consumer devices/technologies. You will join a leading PR agency technology team working with national and international B2B and B2C technology clients. You will work with a dedicated team of seasoned professionals where collaboration, diversity, hard work, creativity, kindness, and dedication to our clients are highly valued. Responsibilities:
  • Monitoring client and competitive media coverage
  • Developing and maintaining media lists
  • Drafting pitches and conducting media outreach
  • Conducting secondary research and writing measurement report drafts
  • Supporting speaking opportunities and developing award submissions
  • Writing news releases and other editorial content
  • Supporting media briefings and events
  • Participating in team brainstorms
  • Supporting new business initiatives

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in communications, PR, or journalism.
  • Prior technology public relations PR Internship experience or prior technology PR agency work experience.
  • Familiarity with public relations/communications programs as evidenced through completed college coursework, internships, or related work experience.
  • Interest and desire to work in public relations with technology clients.
  • Self-starter with excellent organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to think creatively.
  • Ability to adapt to new situations/challenges.
  • Strong verbal and writing skills.
  • Experience with measurement tools (e.g., Cision, Meltwater) is preferred but optional.

Available Salary Range: $21.64/hour - $26.44/hour for this full-time, hourly/non-exempt, direct hire position. Wage is commensurate with experience and dependent upon the location.
