Job description

We’re seeking an experienced IT Technical Project Manager to lead complex cybersecurity and network security initiatives in a fast-paced enterprise environment. This role offers the opportunity to drive high-impact work across firewall modernization, incident response improvement, and threat intelligence capabilities while partnering with technical teams and business leaders.

Responsibilities
  • Lead end-to-end delivery of cybersecurity and network security projects, including firewall deployments, security enhancements, incident response improvements, and threat intelligence initiatives
  • Build and maintain project plans, schedules, budgets, resource forecasts, and risk logs
  • Manage multiple concurrent initiatives and keep priorities aligned across teams and dependencies
  • Guide projects through initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, and closeout
  • Track milestones, performance indicators, and deliverables, and provide clear executive status updates
  • Coordinate firewall rule changes, migration efforts, and modernization activities across enterprise environments
  • Support network security programs such as segmentation, zero trust, micro-segmentation, NAC, VPN, IDS/IPS, WAF, DDoS mitigation, and SD-WAN security
  • Drive improvements to cyber incident response playbooks, tabletop exercises, and simulation activities
  • Partner with SOC leadership to deliver enhancements to detection and response tooling, including SOAR-related efforts
  • Lead efforts to operationalize threat intelligence feeds, platforms, integrations, and automation initiatives
  • Manage vendors, contractors, and service providers while supporting governance meetings and change advisory processes
  • Prepare executive-friendly dashboards, risk summaries, and decision-support materials for stakeholders
Skills
  • 10+ years of IT project management experience, with at least 8 years focused on cybersecurity or network security projects
  • Experience leading firewall migration, network security infrastructure, or security operations projects in large enterprise environments
  • Proven success delivering complex projects on time, within budget, and to quality standards
  • Experience managing project budgets of $500K+ and cross-functional teams of 10 or more
  • Strong understanding of firewall technologies such as Palo Alto, Cisco ASA/Firepower, Fortinet, or Check Point
  • Working knowledge of network security architecture, including DMZ, segmentation, zero trust, and SD-WAN
  • Familiarity with incident response frameworks such as NIST CSF, SANS Incident Response, or MITRE ATT&CK
  • Understanding of threat intelligence lifecycle concepts, including IOCs and threat platforms
  • Knowledge of SIEM/SOAR platforms such as Splunk, Sentinel, Phantom, or XSOAR
  • Proficiency with Agile, Waterfall, and hybrid delivery approaches
  • Strong experience with project management tools such as ServiceNow, Jira, MS Project, or Smartsheet
  • Excellent risk management, issue resolution, escalation, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Experience working within SDLC and change management processes
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field
Preferred Skills
  • Certifications such as PMP, CISSP, CISM, Security+, GIAC, or CCNP Security
  • Experience in aviation, transportation, or other critical infrastructure environments
  • Familiarity with airline-related cybersecurity requirements and regulatory expectations
  • Experience supporting cloud security initiatives across AWS, Azure, or GCP
  • Knowledge of PKI, certificate lifecycle management, and identity security
  • Experience leading tool evaluations, RFPs, and vendor selection activities
  • ITIL Foundation or higher certification
  • SAFe Agilist or Scrum Master certification
  • Master’s degree in a relevant field
