Job Summary
Hazard Community and Technical College invites applications for the position of Surgical Technology Program Coordinator/Instructor. The Surgical Technology Program Coordinator/Instructor will provide coordination of and instruct courses within the Surgical Technology program.
Job Duties:
Duties to include but not limited to:
• Deliver instruction, instructional activities, and prepare learning materials for courses each semester in accordance with approved curriculum.
• Teach assigned courses which meet educational outcomes set by the College and regulatory bodies.
• Use of technology and learning management systems to support instruction.
• Complete instructional support processes such as syllabi development, course assessments, early interventions, and class organization.
• Participate in professional development and college/department meetings.
• Will provide coordination of the Surgical Technology program.
Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Possess a minimum of an associate degree; and
• Have documented education or experience in instructional methodology, curriculum design and program planning; and Essentials/Standards,
• Be a graduate of an education program in surgical technology accredited by a nationally recognized programmatic accreditation agency,
• Possess a credential in the field of surgical technology through a national certification program that is accredited by the National Commission on Certifying Agencies (NCCA),
• Have a minimum total of five years of experience, either in the operating room scrub role or as an instructor in surgical technology, or a combination of both, within the past ten years.
