Job description

As a
Stores Person with Ashtead Technology, you'll play an important role in keeping our Houma facility running efficiently and ensuring equipment, spare parts and consumables are available when our customers need them. You'll support everything from goods-in and stock control to equipment movements, packaging and deliveries, working closely with the wider Operations and Logistics teams.
This is a hands-on role in a busy environment, ideal for someone who is organised, reliable and enjoys a varied working day.
What you'll be doing:
  • Manage stock levels of spare parts and consumables, ensuring items are accurately stored, easy to locate and available when required.
  • Receive incoming deliveries, update purchase orders and ensure equipment and materials are safely unloaded, checked and stored.
  • Safely move equipment and materials around the warehouse and stores, including loading and unloading vehicles and carrying out driving and forklift duties when required.
  • Ensure equipment is correctly packaged and stored, with returning equipment booked in promptly and any missing or damaged items reported.
  • Support stock takes and maintain accurate records of assets, including equipment awaiting inspection.
  • Keep the warehouse clean, organised and safe, completing routine housekeeping checks and ensuring emergency exits and working areas remain clear.
  • Work closely with the Logistics team and wider Operations function, providing support where required to help meet customer deadlines.
  • Follow all Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality requirements, including PPE, emergency procedures and safe working practices.

What you'll bring:
  • Previous experience in a stores, warehouse or logistics environment.
  • A forklift licence and proven safe driving experience.
  • Good organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise competing deadlines.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with colleagues across the business.
  • A reliable, hands-on approach and willingness to get involved and support the wider team.
  • The ability to adapt to changing priorities and work efficiently in a busy environment.
  • A qualification in a mechanical or technical discipline would be advantageous, but equivalent industry experience will also be considered.
