POSITION SUMMARY
The IT Assistant will play a key role in supporting the efficient operation of the IT team by managing appointments, coordinating meetings, facilitating information flow within the department and across other departments, and assisting in the documentation of IT processes, procedures, and user guides. Analysis, judgment, attention to detail, dependability, informal communication, initiative, knowledge of work, sensitivity, teamwork, technical/professional self-development, work standards and adhere to the facility professional appearance standards.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
  • Associate degree in computer science, data processing or related field preferred.
  • Familiarity with a variety of networking and personal computer software.
  • Ability to communicate information to staff and the public in a clear and concise manner.
  • Ability and desire to work as a member of a team
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and group situations to other employees and/or students of the organization.
  • Able to anticipate the needs of others and work independently.
  • Ability to focus on quality outcomes and adapt quickly to change as necessary.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage deadlines appropriately as directed by Supervisor.
  • Good interpersonal skills.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Coordinate meetings and information flow
  • Manage appointments and coordinate meetings for IT team members, ensuring efficient communication within and across departments.
  • Assist with network-related tasks:
  • Support the installation, configuration, and maintenance of Local Area Networks, including network cabling and peripheral devices.
  • Installation and setup of equipment:
  • Deploy and set up computer/laptop/mobile devices, printers, and other necessary equipment under supervisor guidance.
  • General assistance and support:
  • Provide technical support to network users, administer end-user accounts, and maintain access rights and permissions.
  • Manage computer labs, including software installation and support for special events, while also assisting with phone system maintenance.
  • Management of computer labs, installing any software needed for each quarter and/or special events. Travel to off-site location may be required.
  • Miscellaneous tasks:
  • Aid in documenting IT processes, procedures, and user guides.
  • Oversee IT inventory levels and assist with procurement activities as directed.
  • Perform additional duties as required, which may involve significant travel between facilities.
