Regional IT Manager - State Veterans Homes  

STGi is seeking qualified candidates for this position in connection with an active Request for Proposals (RFP).   Hiring for this role is contingent upon STGi's selection as the successful awardee.  

JOB SUMMARY:

The Regional IT Manager is responsible for overseeing information technology systems, infrastructure, and support services across multiple long-term care facilities. This role ensures secure, reliable, and compliant IT operations that support clinical, financial, and administrative functions.

The Regional IT Manager serves as the primary IT liaison for facility leadership, ensuring system optimization, regulatory compliance (including HIPAA), cybersecurity protection, and effective user support.

 ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 

IT Operations & Infrastructure

  • Oversee IT infrastructure across assigned facilities (networks, servers, workstations, printers, VoIP systems).
  • Ensure high availability and performance of Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems.
  • Manage vendor relationships for EHR, billing systems, telecom, and hardware providers.
  • Coordinate system upgrades, patches, and software deployments.
  • Maintain disaster recovery and business continuity plans.
  • Monitor system performance and address outages promptly.

Healthcare Systems Support

  • Work with Systems Utilization & Implementation Lead to support EHR platforms (e.g., PointClickCare, MatrixCare, NetSolutions, etc.).
  • Ensure integration between clinical, billing, pharmacy, lab, and therapy systems.
  • Assist with PDPM/MDS-related system configuration and reporting.
  • Support revenue cycle systems and secure data transmission.

Cybersecurity & Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA and other healthcare data privacy regulations.
  • Implement and monitor cybersecurity protocols (firewalls, endpoint protection, multi-factor authentication).
  • Conduct periodic risk assessments and vulnerability testing.
  • Train staff on cybersecurity awareness and phishing prevention.
  • Investigate and respond to potential security incidents.

Leadership & Support

  • Supervise IT support staff or third-party managed service providers.
  • Provide tier-2/tier-3 technical support as needed.
  • Develop IT policies and standard operating procedures.
  • Support onboarding of new facilities and system implementations.
  • Travel to facilities for system installations, audits, and troubleshooting (typically 40-70%).

Strategic & Budget Responsibilities

  • Assist with annual IT budgeting and capital planning.
  • Recommend technology improvements to enhance efficiency and security.
  • Support telehealth implementation and remote monitoring systems.
  • Participate in leadership meetings to align IT strategy with operational goals.
