Job Summary
Medline is seeking a technology-focused legal counsel to provide a variety of legal services for clients across Medline's business. This role will primarily be focused on counseling in the areas of technology transactions, data security, and AI governance.
Job Description
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
-Provide guidance and counseling to colleagues across the global business regarding the acquisition, use, and offering of tech-focused products and services.
-Serve as a key partner to Information Technology and Information Security teams in evaluating, acquiring, licensing, implementing, and/or offering new technologies.
-Draft and negotiate various technology-focused agreements, including arrangements where Medline is purchasing or offering technology services, as well as data processing agreements and business associate agreements.
-Manage a large volume of transactions and other projects from start to finish, working closely with colleagues in IT, the product divisions, sales organization, and other functional areas. Collaborate to provide seamless, consistent support.
-Create and implement best practices and standards for technology arrangements, both upstream and downstream.
-Work closely with and train non-attorney contract professionals; develop standards for those colleagues to ensure efficient client service.
-Proactively identify areas for process or technology improvements to drive efficiencies in areas within or adjacent to the attorney's purview.
-Counsel clients on risk mitigation strategies within the attorney's purview. Negotiate and resolve related disputes prior to litigation.
-Counsel and participate in Medline's Global IT Leadership Team, AI Steering Committee, and AI working group.
-Serve as counselor and embedded strategic advisor on enterprise-wide technology projects.
MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS
Education
Juris Doctor degree.
Certification / Licensure
Member of a state bar in good standing.
Work Experience
4 or more years of post-law school experience at a law firm and/or in-house at a corporation.
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities
Process-oriented doer, capable of conceiving of, executing, and completing large scale projects involving various stakeholders.
Intense curiosity, ability to quickly learn the business and assess risk.
Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, capacity to influence and build consensus.
Demonstrated interest and experience licensing or offering technology solutions and counseling on various technology arrangements.
Demonstrated capacity to triage multiple complex issues and manage competing requests.
Responsive, resilient attorney with sound judgment.

The anticipated salary range for this position:
$154,000.00 - $231,000.00 Annual
The actual salary will vary based on applicant's location, education, experience, skills, and abilities. This role is bonus and/or incentive eligible. Medline will not pay less than the applicable minimum wage or salary threshold.
Our benefit package includes health insurance, life and disability, 401(k) contributions, paid time off, etc., for employees working 30 or more hours per week on average. For roles where employees work less than 30 hours per week, benefits include 401(k) contributions, paid time off, as well as access to the Employee Assistance Program, Employee Resource Groups and the Employee Service Corp.
