Job description

FieldAI is transforming how robots interact with the real world. Our growing R&D team is based in Boston, where we develop risk-aware, reliable, field-ready AI systems that tackle the hardest problems in robotics and unlock the potential of embodied intelligence. We take a pragmatic approach that goes beyond off-the-shelf, purely data-driven methods or transformer-only architectures, combining cutting-edge research with real-world deployment. Our solutions are already deployed globally, and we continuously improve model performance through rapid iteration driven by real field use.

Approximately 10-15% of your time will support People Operations through onboarding, recruiting operations, process improvements, and initiatives that create an exceptional employee experience.

This is a fixed-term position with an immediate business need. We are looking for someone who can start immediately. This role may evolve into a full-time role in the future depending on business need.

Strategic Talent Partnership
  • Serve as a trusted recruiting partner to engineering and research leadership.
  • Provide market insights on talent trends, compensation, competitor hiring, and candidate availability.
  • Help hiring teams make informed decisions through talent mapping, market intelligence, and thoughtful candidate assessment.

  • Maintain accurate ATS data, recruiting metrics, and hiring reports.
People Operations Support (10-15%)
  • Coordinate onboarding and ensure a seamless new hire experience.
  • Partner with People Operations on recruiting operations, onboarding logistics, documentation, and process improvements.

  • Experience hiring highly technical AI/ML researchers, research engineers, software engineers, robotics engineers, hardware engineers, and similarly specialized technical talent.
  • Experience hiring PhD-level researchers, Research Scientists, or senior technical leadership.
  • Experience recruiting within startups, high-growth technology companies, technical recruiting agencies, executive search firms, or a combination of these environments.
  • Strong sourcing skills using LinkedIn Recruiter, GitHub, Boolean Search, Google X-Ray, research publications, conference attendee lists, and other technical sourcing tools.

  • Experience partnering closely with senior technical leaders and managing multiple high-priority searches simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, negotiation, and organizational skills.
  • Experience using ATS platforms such as Lever, Greenhouse, Ashby, or Workday.
  • Comfort working independently in a fast-paced, evolving startup environment.
The Extras That Set You Apart
  • Experience recruiting for robotics, embodied AI, autonomous systems, machine learning, or AI research organizations.
  • Familiarity with AI research communities, technical publications, conferences, and open-source ecosystems.
  • Experience using market intelligence and competitive talent insights to influence recruiting strategy.
  • Experience supporting onboarding or broader People Operations initiatives.
We Encourage You to Apply If You

  • Love solving challenging technical hiring problems that require creativity and persistence.
  • Take pride in identifying talent before the rest of the market.
  • Thrive in a high-growth startup where priorities evolve quickly.

Our R&D organization is growing and anchored in Boston, with close collaboration across our teams in Southern California and with colleagues around the US and globally.

Be Part of the Next Robotics Revolution
Solving problems at this scale takes a team as unique as the mission. We are looking for people who push beyond conventional approaches, enjoy tackling tough and ambiguous questions, and bring interdisciplinary perspective. Our success depends on exceptional AI researchers and engineers, as well as strong software developers, product designers, field deployment experts, and communicators who can turn breakthroughs into real capability.
We are headquartered in Mission Viejo (Irvine adjacent), Southern California, with teammates across the US and around the world. Join us to shape the future of embodied intelligence as part of a fun, close-knit team building systems that work in the real world.

We do not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, gender, national origin, ethnicity, veteran status, disability status, age, sexual orientation, gender identity, marital status, or any other legally protected status.
We may use artificial intelligence (AI) tools to support parts of the hiring process, such as reviewing applications, analyzing resumes, or assessing responses and identifying potential inconsistencies or verification signals in application materials based on available information. These tools assist our recruitment team but do not replace human judgment. Final hiring decisions are ultimately made by humans.
