Position Summary
Position SummaryThe Technical Systems Analyst is responsible for supporting enterprise systems, system integrations, ServiceNow administration, business intelligence reporting, and the operationalization of digital transformation initiatives. This role serves as a bridge between business stakeholders, technical teams, and external vendors to analyze requirements, improve workflows, troubleshoot issues, and deliver reliable technology solutions. The position helps translate digital strategy into day-to-day operational capabilities by maintaining system configurations, monitoring integrations, enabling automation, developing Power BI reports and dashboards, supporting adoption of modernized processes, and ensuring accurate documentation of technical and business processes.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Gather, analyze, and document business requirements, technical specifications, workflows, and process improvement opportunities.
  • Support, monitor, and troubleshoot integrations between enterprise applications, including APIs, data feeds, middleware, scheduled jobs, and file-based interfaces.
  • Assist with integration design, testing, validation, issue resolution, and documentation in partnership with internal teams and external vendors.
  • Administer and configure ServiceNow functionality, including forms, workflows, catalog items, assignment groups, notifications, user access, knowledge articles, dashboards, and reports.
  • Support IT Service Management processes such as incident management, request fulfillment, change management, asset management, knowledge management, and configuration management.
  • Develop, maintain, and enhance Power BI dashboards, reports, datasets, and visualizations that support operational performance, leadership reporting, and key performance indicators.
  • Extract, transform, validate, and reconcile data from multiple sources to support reporting accuracy and decision-making.
  • Troubleshoot application issues, coordinate root-cause analysis, document resolutions, and escalate issues as appropriate.
  • Participate in system upgrades, enhancements, testing, implementations, and optimization initiatives.
  • Help operationalize digital transformation initiatives by converting strategic technology priorities into sustainable workflows, system configurations, reporting capabilities, automation opportunities, and measurable operational outcomes.
  • Serve as a liaison between functional users, IT teams, data owners, and vendors to ensure solutions align with business needs and technical standards.
  • Maintain system documentation, process maps, data dictionaries, configuration records, test scripts, user guides, and training materials.
  • Provide end-user support, training, and communication related to system functionality, reporting tools, and process changes.
  • Support change adoption by preparing users for new digital tools, updated workflows, self-service capabilities, and data-enabled ways of working.
  • Support compliance, security, audit, and data governance requirements related to enterprise systems, integrations, and reporting.

Minimum Qualifications
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in information technology, Computer Science, Business Systems, Data Analytics, or a related field; equivalent combination of education, certification, and relevant experience may be considered.
  • Three or more years of experience in systems analysis, application support, integrations, IT service management, reporting, or a related technology role.
  • Experience administering or supporting ServiceNow or a comparable IT Service Management platform.
  • Experience developing reports, dashboards, or data visualizations using Power BI or a similar business intelligence tool.
  • Working knowledge of system integrations, APIs, data mapping, interface testing, and data validation practices.
  • Ability to analyze business processes and translate functional needs into technical requirements and solutions.
  • Ability to support the operational execution of digital transformation efforts by aligning technology capabilities with business process improvement, automation, reporting, and user adoption needs.
  • Strong troubleshooting, documentation, communication, and customer service skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work collaboratively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

  • ServiceNow Certified System Administrator or related ServiceNow certification.
  • Microsoft Power BI certification or demonstrated advanced Power BI experience.
  • Experience with SQL, relational databases, data warehousing, ETL concepts, or data governance practices.
  • Experience supporting enterprise systems such as Workday, Banner, ERP, CRM, HRIS, finance, student information, or clinical/academic systems.
  • Experience working in higher education, healthcare, academic medicine, research, or another highly regulated environment.
  • Familiarity with compliance requirements such as HIPAA, FERPA, information security standards, privacy requirements, or institutional data governance policies.
  • Experience participating in system implementations, upgrades, process redesign, or digital transformation initiatives.
  • Experience supporting the implementation, adoption, or operational sustainment of digital transformation initiatives, including workflow modernization, automation, self-service tools, analytics, or enterprise platform optimization.
