Job description

Coastline Equipment is a leading John Deere Construction and Forestry dealer with locations in Southern California, Nevada and Idaho. Coastline provides world-class equipment solutions from John Deere, Wirtgen, Trimble and Topcon. At their 13 locations, Coastline delivers best-in-class equipment, parts, service and technology solutions for customers. Our team of experts is driven to meet the needs of our customers both where they are today and where they are going tomorrow.
The team at Coastline is looking to hire a Product Support Sales Representative at their Santa Maria, CA branch.
Purpose:
The Product Support Sales Representative (PSSR) will utilize connected and integrated technologies to enhance customer satisfaction through proactive support, as well as ongoing maintenance, service, and parts needs. Within a specific geographic area, the PSSR will promote Coastline Equipment's product support business to both improve customer satisfaction and contribute to Coastline Equipment's profitability. The PSSR will manage the product support process to address technical and/or parts issues affecting machine performance and uptime by coordinating with the service and parts departments.
Job Responsibilities:
  • Promotion: Promote Coastline Equipment Parts and Service departments to customers and job sites within the assigned territory.
  • Sales Goals: Achieve Territory Aftermarket Sales Goals set by the Branch Manager and/or Corporate Service Manager.
  • Customer Engagement: Use Connective Support tools to proactively contact customers and communicate repair or optimization opportunities. Conduct monthly aftersales follow-up calls.
  • Field Calls and Lead Generation: Make field-related customer calls to generate product support revenue. Provide actionable leads to the Parts Department for John Deere OEM parts sales.
  • Contract Management: Monitor, promote, and sell John Deere Protect Preventative Maintenance Contracts and Extended Warranty.
  • Technology Utilization and CRM Management: Utilize technology to focus on revenue opportunities in various areas (e.g., undercarriage, inspections, machine rebuilds). Maintain customer call frequency, prospecting, and call reporting in Coastline's CRM system.
  • Training & Knowledge: Stay current on new machine technology and complete required training.
  • Expert Alerts: Collaborate with Machine Monitoring Specialist to monitor and educate customers on Expert Alerts.
  • Optimization and Telematics Monitoring: Complete machine optimizations and provide JDLink™ connectivity training. Monitor and facilitate telematic component functionality.

Required Qualifications:
  • Education: High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience: Previous experience working in aftermarket sales or service advisor role.
  • Computer Skills: Experience with basic computer functions; preference for experience using Deere systems.
  • Communication: Effective writing and speaking skills for both individuals and groups.
  • Industry Experience: Previous dispatch and customer service experience in the equipment rental/construction industry. Knowledge of John Deere equipment and competitors.

Work Environment
  • Driving: Must be able to drive and travel in a vehicle. For the purposes of driving, must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screening.
  • Physical Conditions: Must be able to lift 15 pounds.
