Description

Position Overview:

Detroit Defense is seeking an experienced Technical Support Specialist to provide operational and technical support for mission-critical Department of Defense systems. This role delivers hands-on and remote technical assistance, resolves system and network issues, supports installation and sustainment activities, and collaborates with engineering and program teams to ensure reliable system performance. 


Key Responsibilities:

Provide technical support for networked systems supporting complex Department of Defense programs. 

Troubleshoot hardware, software, network, and system issues through both remote and on-site support. 

Support field installation, maintenance, and sustainment activities to ensure continued operational readiness. 

Respond to service requests, diagnose technical problems, and implement timely resolutions. 

Collaborate with engineering and technical teams to resolve complex system issues. 

Maintain service records, technical documentation, and support logs. 

Assist with software updates, system upgrades, and configuration management activities. 

Support customer training, technical guidance, and issue resolution during deployment and sustainment activities. 

Participate in continuous process improvement initiatives to improve support quality and response times.

Requirements

Required Qualifications:

Three (3) or more years of experience providing technical, network, or help desk support within Department of Defense, government, or other complex technical environments. 

Experience providing remote and/or on-site technical support for enterprise systems. 

Strong troubleshooting skills across hardware, software, and network technologies. 

Ability to obtain NAVSEA Alteration Installation Team (AIT) Level 1 certification within fifteen (15) days of task order start and Level 2 certification within forty-five (45) days, as required by the program. 

Active Top Secret Security Clearance required.


Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with one or more of the following technologies: Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), Windows Server, Windows Client, VMware, Ansible, Cisco technologies, Network Security. DoD Public Key Infrastructure, Aruba networking, Cloud computing platforms, CM Pro, Jira 

Experience providing remote technical support for Department of Defense or Navy systems. 

Experience supporting shipboard or field technical operations.

Strong customer service, communication, and problem-solving skills.
