Job Description

Link Solutions is seeking a System Administrator (Associate/Intermediate) to join our team in Clarksburg, WV.

  • U.S. Citizen with an active DoWย Secret Clearance
  • DoD 8570/8140 IAT Level II certification or higher is required
  • Non-remote (relocation incentive available)

The System Administrator will provide IT support at the Clarksburg Local Network Enterprise Center (LNEC) in support of the Biometric Operations Department (BOD). This role supports the operation, maintenance, and security of Army Information Technology Portfolio (AITP) systems, including NIPRNET, SIPRNET, and Mission System Environments.

This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career IT professional to gain hands-on experience supporting enterprise-level Windows environments and secure government systems. Working alongside experienced engineers, administrators, and cybersecurity professionals, the Systems Administrator will assist with maintaining system performance, troubleshooting technical issues, implementing security requirements, and supporting mission-critical operations. This position offers valuable exposure to enterprise infrastructure, DoD cybersecurity practices, and technologies that directly support Army operational readiness.

Job Responsibilities:ย 

  • Install, configure, patch, and troubleshoot Windows servers, workstations, operating systems, and enterprise applications in accordance with DoD security requirements and STIGs.
  • Provide technical support for hardware, software, user account, and system-related issues across mission-critical network environments.
  • Assist with administering Active Directory, Group Policy, Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM), and related enterprise services.
  • Monitor system performance, availability, and security, escalating issues as appropriate and supporting timely resolution.
  • Perform routine system maintenance, backups, recovery activities, patch management, and vulnerability remediation efforts.
  • Create, modify, and maintain user accounts, permissions, and access controls in compliance with organizational and cybersecurity policies.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, standard operating procedures, and system configuration records.
  • Collaborate with network, engineering, and cybersecurity teams to support operational requirements and compliance initiatives.
  • Support audits, inspections, and cybersecurity assessments by gathering information and maintaining required documentation.

Qualifications

Associate-Level:

  • U.S. Citizen with an active DoWย Secret Clearance.
  • IAT Level II certification or higher in accordance with DoD 8570.01-M / DoD 8140 requirements (e.g., CompTIA Security+ CE, CCNA Security, GICSP, GSEC, SSCP, or equivalent).
  • One (1+) year of relevant experience in systems administration, IT support, network administration, or cybersecurity.
  • Basic understanding of Information Assurance (IA), cybersecurity best practices, vulnerability management, and system hardening.
  • Experience supporting Windows Server environments, Active Directory, and enterprise infrastructure services.
  • Ability to troubleshoot technical issues, follow established processes, and work effectively within a team environment.
  • Microsoft 365 Certified: Teamwork Administrator Associate certification.
  • Baseline certification required within six (6) months of hire if not already obtained.

Intermediate-Level:

  • U.S. Citizen with an active DoWย Secret Clearance.
  • IAT Level II certification or higher in accordance with DoD 8570.01-M / DoD 8140 requirements (e.g., CompTIA Security+ CE, CCNA Security, GICSP, GSEC, SSCP, or equivalent).
  • Four (4+) years of relevant professional experience supporting, administering, and troubleshooting enterprise IT environments.
  • Ability to gather, analyze, and translate requirements into effective system designs and integrated technical solutions.
  • Experience supporting Windows Server environments and enterprise infrastructure.
  • Experience creating and maintaining technical documentation, standard operating procedures, and process guides.
  • Experience developing and documenting system architectures, processes, and engineering plans, including performance management, capacity planning, testing, and validation.
  • Experience conducting root cause analysis and resolving complex technical issues.

Preferred:

  • Associate degree or higher in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
  • Familiarity with Active Directory, Group Policy, system patching, software deployment, and endpoint management tools.
  • Familiarity with RMF principles, STIG implementation, ACAS vulnerability scanning, IAVM compliance, and cybersecurity tools such as eMASS and Tanium.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products.
  • Experience working in a Department of Defense (DoD) environment.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with attention to detail.
  • Self-motivated professional capable of working independently and in a collaborative team environment.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
