Job description

Job Title: Technical Support – In Vivo

Location: Wilmington, MA
Job Type: 12 Months
Pay Rate: $24/hour
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–3:30 PM
Additional Schedule Requirements: Weekend work may be required based on business needs. Must be willing to work at least 2 holidays per year.

Job Summary:

We are seeking a Technical Support – In Vivo professional to support laboratory testing and nonclinical research activities in a regulated laboratory environment.

The ideal candidate will have at least 6 months of laboratory experience, strong attention to detail, and hands-on experience with basic laboratory techniques, particularly pipetting. Experience with immunoassays, serology, animal handling, or animal husbandry is a plus.

Under direct supervision, this position will perform specimen receipt, preparation, and testing in accordance with SOPs, study protocols, and applicable GMP requirements.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform laboratory activities including reagent preparation, laboratory maintenance, monitoring, and routine testing of client samples.
  • Perform routine immunoassay and serology testing, including ELISA and IFA methods.
  • Perform hemagglutination testing as required.
  • Assist with receipt and handling of samples for testing.
  • Prepare data forms for routine serology testing.
  • Record assay parameters accurately according to study protocols.
  • Perform proper sample dilutions.
  • Operate and maintain laboratory pipettes accurately.
  • Assist with preparation of departmental media and diluents.
  • Follow proper labeling and storage procedures for laboratory materials.
  • Help maintain an adequate supply of materials required for laboratory assays.
  • Ensure raw data records are accurate, complete, organized, and compliant with study protocols and GMP requirements.
  • Assist project managers and technical staff with planning and conducting serology assays.
  • Support additional laboratory activities, including clinical observations and animal husbandry, as needed.
  • Assist with general laboratory housekeeping and inventory management.
  • Maintain proficiency in departmental SOPs and develop a general understanding of laboratory processes.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.


Qualifications:

  • Minimum 6 months of laboratory experience required.
  • Associate's degree in Biological Sciences or a related discipline preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in Biological Sciences or a related field preferred.
  • Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.
  • Hands-on laboratory experience with pipetting is highly desirable.
  • Experience with ELISA, IFA, immunoassays, serology, or hemagglutination is a plus.
  • Experience with animal handling or animal husbandry is preferred.
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in both one-on-one and small-group settings.
  • No specific certification or licensure is required.


Physical Requirements

  • Ability to move throughout the laboratory and operate a computer.
  • Ability to remain stationary while performing laboratory procedures.
  • Frequent and accurate use of laboratory pipettes.
  • Ability to observe, inspect, and interpret laboratory experiments.
  • Close vision and the ability to adjust focus and distinguish colors are required.
  • Ability to frequently lift or move up to 10 lbs. and occasionally lift or move up to 25 lbs.
  • Must be able to wear required PPE, including gloves, protective clothing, and eye protection.


Work Environment:

  • General laboratory working environment.
  • Regular use of protective clothing, including cap, gloves, scrubs, lab coat, and safety glasses.
  • Work with biological samples and potential exposure to zoonotic diseases and biohazards.
  • May work with sharp objects, including needles, glass pipettes, and pipette tips.
  • Noise levels may range from low to moderate depending on the task.
