GC&E Federal is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Technical Solutions Specialist to join our Solutions Operations Center (SOC), who thrives at the intersection of technical design and cost data coordination. In this role, you will support the design and development of integrated technical solutions, combining technical expertise with the collection and validation of cost information needed to support proposal development and ensure solutions are both technically sound and resourceโ€‘aligned. The successful candidate will have handsโ€‘on experience with IP-based video systems, video management software (VMS), access control, intrusion detection, intercoms, electronic locking hardware, wireless locks, cloud-based security platforms, and copper/fiber telecommunications cabling.

As a Technical Solutions Specialist, you will serve as the bridge between customer requirements and tailored solution delivery,collaborating, on an as required basis, with sales and operations teams tosupport proposal development that balances innovation, feasibility, compliance, and value. In doing so, you will help shape solutions that protect people, assets, and infrastructure while ensuring proposals remain competitive and aligned with organizational goals.

Key Experience and Skills:
  • Conduct site visits and attend pre-bid meetings to gather requirements.
  • Conduct blueprint take โ€‘ offs and produce structured labor โ€‘ hour and direct โ€‘ material โ€‘ cost estimates.
  • Design and document solutions, including submittal packages (rack elevations, device locations, pathways, cut-sheets).
  • Develop and validate solution cost models and resource assessments as a critical input to proposal development, program planning, and change order support.
  • Collaborate with sales teams to align technical solutions with client needs.
  • Support field teams with technical guidance and troubleshooting.
  • Coordinate with vendors and/or subcontractors to obtain cost data for services in support of proposal development.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, company policies, and customer requirements.
  • Execute supplementary duties as assigned by the SOC Manager in alignment with organizational priorities.
Candidate Requirements:
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Project, Visio, and Outlook.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and technical drawings.
  • Skilled in blueprint measurement tools (scale ruler, digital plan measure).
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects in a fastโ€‘paced environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Knowledge of telecommunications and security installation methods.
  • 3โ€“5 years of relevant experience in security systems fieldwork and systems design, including labor โ€‘ hour modeling and direct โ€‘ material โ€‘ cost estimating.
  • Degree or equivalent technical/business experience.
Preferred Skills and Experience:
  • Experience with additional tools such as D โ€‘ Tools System Integrator and Google Earth.
  • Experience with Revit, Bluebeam, and AutoCAD
  • Familiarity with cloud-based physical security solutions.
  • Effective communication skills and ability to provide status updates, raise issues, and contribute to solution discussions.

  • Regular use of computers for extended periods and must be able to manage tasks independently in a fastโ€‘paced setting.
